Chair Weiler called the meeting to order at 12:50 p.m.

 

Sen. Weiler relinquished the chair to Sen. Dayton.

 

 

S.B. 208       Retirement Amendments (Sen. Weiler)

 

Sen. Weiler explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke to the bill:            Mr. Dee Larsen, Counsel for Utah Retirement Systems

 

Spoke against the bill:    Mr. David Spatafore, Chiefs of Police Association, Fire Chiefs Association        

 

MOTION:   Sen. Weiler moved to pass the bill out favorably. 

 

SUBSTITUTE MOTION:  Sen Davis moved to go to the next item on the agenda.  The motion passed with Sen. Dayton and Sen. Weiler voting in opposition.

 

Sen. Weiler resumed the chair.

 

H.B. 51        Recodification of Postretirement Reemployment Provisions (Rep. Powell)

 

Rep. Powell explained the bill to the committee:

 

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dayton moved to approve the minutes of the February 9, 2016 meeting.  The motion passed unanimously.    

 

H.B. 15        Domestic Relations Retirement Shares (Rep. McIff)

 

Rep. McIff explained the bill to the committee:

MOTION:  Sen. Davis moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously

 

 

 

MOTION:   Sen. Davis moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
