Chair Dayton called the meeting to order at 8:04 a.m.

 

S.B. 233          Government Immunity Act Amendments (Sen. C. Bramble)

Sen. Bramble explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:      Sen.  Thatcher moved to pass S.B. 233 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Escamilla and Sen. Hinkins absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:      Sen. Jackson moved to accept the minutes from Feb. 24th and Feb. 26th .  The motion passed unanimously with Sen Escamilla and Sen. Hinkins absent for the vote.

 

Chair Dayton yielded the chair to Sen. Jackson.

 

S.B. 227         Private Security Licensing Board Amendments (Sen. M. Dayton)

 

MOTION:      Sen. Dayton moved to replace S.B. 227 with 1st Sub. S.B. 227.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Escamilla and Sen. Hinkins absent for the vote.

 

Sen. Dayton explained the bill to the committee with assistance from John Tinsley, CEO,          Centurion Security.

MOTION:      Sen. Dayton moved to move to the next item on the agenda.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hinkins absent for the vote.

 

Sen. Jackson yielded the chair to Chair Dayton.

 

MOTION:      Sen. Hinkins moved to pass S.B. 227 out favorably.  The motion passed with Sen. Escamilla and Sen. Thatcher voting in opposition.

 

H.B. 359          Political Subdivision Ethics Commission Amendments (Rep. J. Draxler)

 

Rep. Draxler explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke for the Bill:    Mark Thomas, Assistant to Lieutenant Governor

 

MOTION:      Sen. Jackson moved to pass H.B. 359 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:      Sen. Hinkins moved to place H.B. 359 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.

Rep. Chavez-Houck explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:      Sen. Escamilla move to pass H.B. 285 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

 

MOTION:      Sen. Escamilla moved to place H.B. 285 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.

Rep. Nelson explained the bill to the committee.
