Chair Jenkins called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dayton moved to adopt the minutes of the February 25, 2016 meeting. The

                    motion passed unanimously with Sen. Iwamoto and Sen. Knudson absent for the

                    vote.

 

S.B. 231       Waste Management Amendments (J. S. Adams)

                    

Sen. Adams explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke for the bill:     Casey Hill, Energy Solutions

           

MOTION:   Sen. Dayton moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

H.B.   347    Local and Special Service District Amendments (S. Handy)

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dayton moved to adopt 1st Sub. H.B. 347.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

Rep Handy explained the bill to the committee assisted by LeGrand W. Bitter, Special Service

Districts.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dayton moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen absent for the vote.

 

H.B.   287     1st Sub.     Commission for the Stewardship of Public Lands and Private

                                        Donations for Public Lands Litigation (K. Christofferson)

 

Rep Christofferson explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dayton moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed with

Sen. Iwamoto voting in opposition and Sen. Christensen and Sen. Knudson absent for the vote.

 

H.J.R.  4    1stSub.     Joint Resolution on Water Infrastructure Transfer (M. McKell)

 

Rep. McKell explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dayton moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen and Sen. Knudson absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dayton moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen and Sen. Knudson absent for the vote.

 

H.B.   363    Grazing Zone Amendments (M. Noel)

 

Rep. Noel explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:  Sen. Vickers moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen, Sen. Knudson and Sen. Shiozawa absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Vickers moved to place the bill on the Consent Calendar.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen, Sen. Knudson and Sen. Shiozawa absent for the vote.

 

H.B.   169    Little Sahara State Part Designation (S. Eliason)

 

Rep. Eliason explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:   Sen. Vickers moved to amend the bill as follows:

with Sen. Jenkins voting in opposition and Sen. Christensen, Sen. Knudson and Sen Shiozawa absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:   Sen.  Dayton moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Christensen, Sen. Knudson and Sen. Shiozawa absent for the vote.
