Chair Henderson called the meeting to order at 4:14 p.m.
MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to approve the minutes of the March 1, 2016 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stephenson absent for the vote.
Chair Henderson
relinquished the chair to Sen. Harper.
S.B. 245 Personal Property Amendments (Sen. D. Henderson)
MOTION: Sen. Henderson moved to amend the bill as follows:
I.
Page 10, Lines 289 through 298:
289 (29) "Personal property" includes:
290 (a)
every class of property as defined in Subsection (30) that is the
subject of
291 ownership and [not
included within the meaning of the terms "real estate" and
292 "improvements";]
is not real estate or an improvement;
293 [(b) gas and water mains and pipes laid in roads,
streets, or alleys;]
294 (b) any pipe laid in or affixed to land {where} whether or not the ownership of the pipe is
separate from
295 the ownership
of the underlying land, even if the pipe meets the definition of an
improvement;
296 (c) bridges and ferries;
297 (d) livestock; and
298 (e) outdoor advertising structures as defined in
Section 72-7-502.
The
motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stephenson absent for the vote.

MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
S.B. 237 Immigration and Alien Related Amendments (Sen. C. Bramble)
MOTION: Sen. Stephenson moved S.B. 237 be replaced with 1st Sub. S.B. 237. The motion passed with Sen. Bramble and Sen. Dabakis voting in opposition.
Sen. Bramble explained the bill to the committee.
MOTION: Sen. Stephenson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
H.B. 237 Income Tax Contribution for Clean Air (Rep. P. Arent)

MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved S.B. 180 be replaced with 1st Sub. S.B. 180. The motion passed unanimously.
