Chair Jackson called the meeting to order at 4:17.

 

H.B.   0143S01           Vehicle Safety Inspection Amendments (Rep. K Powell)

 

Rep. Powell explained the bill to the committee.

                    

Spoke for the bill:       Mr. Larry Rhodes, Heber City Tire Factory  

                    

MOTION:  Sen. Hinkins moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Harper absent for the vote.

 

H.B.   0354     Driver Education Funding Amendments (Rep. S. Eliason)

 

Rep. Eliason explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved adopt the following amendment to H.B. 354:

House Committee Amendments

                               70      Ĥ➔ [(c)] (b) »Ĥ  for any other  driver education   purpose as determined by a majority vote of the State

 

 

The amendment passed unanimously with Sen. Harper absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill as amended out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen.  Harper absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Hinkins moved to approve the minutes of the February 29, 2016 and March 2, 2016 meetings. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Harper absent for the vote.    

 

S.B.   0210      Unmanned Aircraft Amendments (Sen. Harper)

 

Sen. Harper explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:   Sen. Harper moved to replace S.B. 0210 with 3nd Sub. SB 210. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

Spoke for the bill:       Mr. Craig Peterson, citizen

                                    Mr. Jeremiah Riley, Attorney

MOTION:  Sen. Hinkins moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed with Sen. Jackson voting against the motion and with Sen. Mayne absent.

 

 

MOTION:   Sen. Harper moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
