Chair Weiler called the meeting to order at 12:49 p.m.

 

S.B. 207       Government Ethics – Post-employment Restrictions (Sen. J. Dabakis)

 

Sen. Dabakis explained the bill to the committee:

 

MOTION:  Sen. Mayne moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion failed with Sen. Mayne voting in favor of the motion and Sen. Bramble and Sen. Thatcher absent for the vote.

 

Sen. Weiler relinquished the chair to Sen. Dayton.

 

S.B. 225       Notice of Pendency of Action Amendments (Sen. T. Weiler)

 

Sen. Weiler explained the bill to the committee:

 

MOTION:   Sen. Weiler moved to replace S.B. 225 with 1st Substitute S.B. 225.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Thatcher absent for the vote.

 

Spoke to the bill:         Mr. John L. Fellows, General Counsel to Utah Legislature

 

Spoke for the bill:       Mr. James Burton, Attorney, Kirton McConkie, Representing Standard Plumbing Supply Co.

                    

MOTION:  Sen. Bramble moved to pass the bill out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Thatcher absent for the vote.

 

 

 

S.B. 208       Retirement Amendments (Sen. T. Weiler)

 

Sen. Weiler explained the bill to the committee:

 

MOTION:   Sen. Weiler moved to adopt the following amendment to the bill.  The motion passed unanimously.

1.         Page 14, Line 403:         


                403            (1)    {If}    Except as provided in Subsection (2), if   approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect


 

2.         Page 14, Line 406:         


                                       406        the date of veto override. 

                             (2)   The amendments to Section 49-11-301 in this bill take effect on July 1, 2016.

MOTION:   Sen. Bramble moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
