Chair Millner called the meeting to order at 8:02 a.m.

 

H.B. 410         Military Tuition Waiver Amendments (Rep. C. Oda) 

 

Rep. Oda explained the bill to the committee.

 

Spoke for the bill:       Mr. Brian Garrett, Chair, Salt Lake Military Affairs Committee      

                                    Mr. Chris Kroeber, National Guard Rep, NGAUT

 

MOTION:  Sen. Dabakis moved to pass HB 410 out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Madsen and Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 379         Interstate Reciprocity Agreement for Postsecondary Distance Education (Rep. V. Peterson) 

 

Rep. Peterson explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:  Sen. Stephenson moved to pass HB379 out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote

 

H.B. 312         Peer Assistance and Review Program Amendments (Rep. J. Briscoe) 

 

Rep. Briscoe explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:  Sen. Stephenson moved to pass HB312 out favorably.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote.

 

1st Sub. H.B. 75         Epilepsy Training in Public Schools (Rep. D. Sagers) 

 

Rep. Sagers explained the bill to the committee.

2nd Sub. H.B. 201     Student Testing Amendments (Rep. M. Poulson) 

 

Rep. Poulson explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:  Sen. Fillmore moved to approve the minutes of the March 4, 2016 meeting.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Madsen absent for the vote.  

 

MOTION:  Sen. Fillmore moved to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Madsen absent.
