1. H.B. 51 Off-highway Vehicle Amendments (Owens, D.)


Rep. Derrin R. Owens presented the bill with the assistance of Chris Haller, Off-Highway Vehicle Coordinator, Utah Division of State Parks and Recreation.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Knotwell moved to pass H.B. 51 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 10-0-2.

Mr. Brent Taylor, Mayor, North Ogden City and Weber-Morgan Board of Health spoke in favor of the bill.


Brian Bennion, Health Officer, Weber-Morgan Health Department and President of local Health Officers Association , spoke in favor of the bill.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Fawson moved to pass H.B. 104 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 10-0-2.

Rep. Craig Hall presented the bill and played three video clips showing examples of accidents involving schools with and without safety belts.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Westwood moved to replace H.B. 132 with 1st Sub H.B. 132. The motion passed with a vote of 10-0-2.
