Chair Perry called the meeting to order at 2:01PM.


1. H.B. 53 Missing and Exploited Children's Day (Handy, S.)


Rep. Handy explained the bill.


Rep. Handy presented the bill with the assistance of Ms. Elaine Runyun, citizen.


Rep. Handy presented the bill with the assistance of Ms. Gina McNeil, Utah Department of Public Safety.


Mr. Paul Murphy, former Amber Alert Coordinator, spoke in favor of the bill.


Mr. Ed Smart, citizen, spoke in favor of the bill.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Ray moved to pass H.B. 53 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 9-0-3.

2. H.B. 138 Public Safety Amendments (Redd, E.)


Rep. Redd explained the bill.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Romero moved to pass H.B. 138 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 10-0-2.

3. H.B. 149 Child Abuse Offender Registry (Owens, D.)
