Chair Buxton called the meeting to order.

1. S.B. 40 School Bus Inspection Revisions (Harper, W.)

MOTION:     Sen. Harper moved to replace S.B. 40 with 1st Substitute S.B. 40. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

Voting in the affirmative were:

Sen. Buxton, Sen. Harper, Sen. Mayne, Sen. Van Tassell

Absent or not voting were:

Sen. Adams, Sen. Anderegg, Sen. Dabakis

Sen. Harper explained the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Van Tassell moved to pass 1st Substitute S.B. 40 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0-2.

Voting in the affirmative were:

Sen. Buxton, Sen. Dabakis, Sen. Harper, Sen. Mayne, Sen. Van Tassell

Absent or not voting were:

Sen. Adams, Sen. Anderegg

2. S.B. 96 Unsecured Load Amendments (Harper, W.)

Sen. Harper explained the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Mayne moved to pass S.B. 96 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0-2.

Sen. Buxton, Sen. Dabakis, Sen. Harper, Sen. Mayne, Sen. Van Tassell

Absent or not voting were:

Sen. Adams, Sen. Anderegg

3. S.J.R. 3 Joint Resolution on Commercial Driving (Van Tassell, K.)

Sen. Kevin T. Van Tassell explained the bill.

Chad Sheppick, Utah Department of Transportation, spoke to the bill.

Rick Clasby, Director, Utah Truckers Association, spoke in favor of the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Van Tassell moved to pass S.J.R. 3 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0-2.

MOTION:     Sen. Van Tassell moved to adjourn.
