Rep. Coleman assumed the chair. Chair Coleman called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.
MOTION: Rep. McCay moved to approve the minutes for January 30, 2017 and February 1, 2017. The motion passed with a vote of 10-0-4.

1. H.B. 108 Teacher Salary Supplement Amendments (Christofferson, K.)
Rep. Kay J. Christofferson presented the bill.
Ms. Susan Sommerkorn, teacher, spoke in favor of the bill.
Ms. Kimberly Call, teacher, spoke in the favor of the bill.
Mr. Travis Rawlings, Licensing Coordinator, Utah State Board of Education, responded to questions.
MOTION: Rep. Cutler moved to amend H.B. 108 with Amendment #1.
1. Page 2, Lines 30 through 34:
30 (c) "Eligible teacher" means a teacher who:
31 (i) has an assignment to teach:
32 (A) a secondary school level mathematics course;
33 (B) integrated science in grade [seven or eight]
34 (C) chemistry;
2. Page 2, Lines 46 through 53:
46 (f) "Field of science" means:
47 (i) integrated science;
48 (ii) chemistry;
49 (iii) physics;
50 (iv) physical science;

(vi) earth science; or
(vii) biology.
52 (g) "License" means the same as that terms is defined in Section 53A-6-103.
