Chair Anderegg called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

1. S.J.R. 14 Joint Resolution Regarding Jobs in Rural Utah (Van Tassell, K.)

Sen. Kevin T. Van Tassell explained the resolution.

Ms. Linda Gillmor, Governor's Office of Economic Development, spoke in favor of the resolution.

Mr. Lee Peacock, Utah Petroleum Association, spoke in favor of the resolution.

MOTION:     Sen. Millner moved to pass S.J.R. 14 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

MOTION:     Sen. Millner moved to place S.J.R. 14 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

MOTION:     Sen. Buxton moved to approve the minutes of February 10, 2017. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

2. H.C.R. 2 Concurrent Resolution Recognizing the United States and Utah's Participation in World War I (Handy, S.)

Rep. Stephen G. Handy explained the resolution.

MOTION:     Sen. Millner moved to pass H.C.R. 2 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

MOTION:     Sen. Millner moved to place H.C.R. 2 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

MOTION:     Sen. Buxton moved to recess. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

Chair Anderegg called the meeting back to order at 8:47 a.m.

3. S.J.R. 13 Joint Resolution Supporting Creation of Citizens Equity Funds (Adams, J. S.)

Sen. J. Stuart Adams explained the resolution.

Ms. Abby Osborne, Salt Lake Chamber, spoke in favor of the resolution.

Mr. Andrew Gruber, Wasatch Front Regional Council, spoke in favor of the resolution.

MOTION:     Sen. Millner moved to pass S.J.R. 13 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

MOTION:     Sen. Millner moved to place S.J.R. 13 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

4. 1st Sub. H.C.R. 6 Concurrent Resolution Supporting the Re-empowerment of the States Amendment (Nelson, M.)

Rep. Merrill F. Nelson explained the resolution.

MOTION:     Sen. Millner moved to pass 1st Substitute H.C.R. 6 out favorably. The motion passed with a vote of 3-1-3.

MOTION:     Sen. Millner moved to adjourn. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

Chair Anderegg adjourned the meeting at 9:22 a.m.
