1. 1st Sub. H.B. 344 Utah Agriculture Code Amendments (Perry, L.)

Rep. Perry explained the bill.

Scott Ericson, Deputy Commissioner, Department of Agriculture, spoke to the bill.

2. H.B. 341 State Park Name Protection Amendments (Perry, L.)

Rep. Perry explained the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Iwamoto moved to pass H.B. 341 out favorably.

The motion passed with a vote of 5-0-2.

MOTION:     Sen. Iwamoto moved to pass 1st Substitute H.B. 344 out favorably.

The motion passed with a vote of 6-0-1.

MOTION:     Sen. Iwamoto moved to approve the minutes for February 27, 2017.

The motion passed with a vote of 6-0-1.

3. H.B. 296 Radioactive and Hazardous Waste Account Amendments (Wilson, B.)

Sen Anderegg explained the bill.

Casey Hill, Executive, Energy Solutions, spoke to the bill.

George Chapman, former nuclear engineer, spoke in opposition to the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Vickers moved to pass H.B. 296 out favorably.

The motion passed with a vote of 5-1-1.

4. 3rd Sub. H.B. 121 Local Food Advisory Council (Handy, S.)

Rep. Handy explained the bill.

LuAnn Adams, Commisioner, Department of Agriculture and Food, spoke in favor of the bill.

Marti Woolford, Utahns Against Hunger, spoke in favor of the bill.

MOTION:     Sen. Hinkins moved to pass 3rd Substitute H.B. 121 out favorably.

The motion passed with a vote of 6-0-1.

MOTION:     Sen. Hinkins moved to adjourn.

The motion passed with a vote of 6-0-1.
