2. Long-Term Energy Policy

The committee will receive an update on the state's 10-year strategic energy plan and information about issues important to long-term planning and policy, including management of Utah's energy resources and emerging technologies.

3. Update on Utah-Based Renewable Energy Projects

The committee will receive a presentation on utility scale renewable energy projects in Utah.

4. Energy Producer States' Agreement

The committee will consider two versions of the draft legislation "Energy Producer States' Agreement Amendments." One version extends the sunset date of Utah Code Section 36-12-20, Development of proposed energy producer states' agreement--Membership selection--Agreements--Goals--Meetings-- Reports, for five years. The second version extends the sunset date for five years and changes the reporting requirement from the Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Interim Committee to the Public Utilities, Energy, and Technology Interim Committee.

 

 

5. Combined Heat and Power

The committee will receive an update on the committee bill file opened in the June 2017 committee meeting, which was intended to address barriers to the further adoption of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) in Utah. The committee may consider draft legislation.

 

 

6. Telecommunications Network Review

The committee will consider draft legislation, "Telecommunications Network Review Amendments," which eliminates language prohibiting the Public Service Commission from holding public hearings or proceedings in the preparation of the Telecommunications Network Review (Utah Code Section 69-4-1).

 

7. Data Security Management Council Report

As required by Utah Code Section 63F-2-103, the committee will receive a report on the Data Security Management Council's activities and recommendations.

8. Chief Information Officer Annual Report

As required by Utah Code Subsection 63F-1-201(3), the chief information officer will provide an annual report to the committee.

9. Electrical Corporation Cost Recovery Report

As required by Utah Code Subsection 54-7-13.5(6), the Public Service Commission will report to the committee on whether allowing an electrical corporation to continue recovering costs under Subsection (2)(d) is reasonable and in the public's interest.

10. Universal Public Telecommunications Service Support Fund

As required by Utah Code Subsection 54-8b-15(16), the Public Service Commission will report on the Universal Public Telecommunications Service Support Fund.
