2. Customer Choice: Municipalities & Renewables
City and county government representatives and Rocky
Mountain Power (RMP) will brief the committee on local governments requesting
that RMP assist them with becoming 100% renewable energy municipalities.
Representatives will discuss the roles of RMP, the Legislature, and the Public
Service Commission in addressing this request, as well as additional costs, if
any, to households and businesses.

3. Summary of Report 2017-14: A Performance Audit of State
Energy Incentives
A representative from the Office of the Legislative Auditor
General (OLAG) will brief the committee on the 2017 OLAG performance audit regarding
state-funded and state-regulated subsidies, credits, and other incentives for
energy-related activities.

4. Statutorily Required Reports Related to the Department of
Technology Services
Representatives from the Department of Technology Services
and the Department of Commerce will provide each of the nine reports to the
committee as required under Utah Code Title 63F, Utah Technology Governance Act, and the one
report as required under Utah Code Subsection 13-1-2(4)(e), Single Sign-On Expendable Special Revenue
Fund.

5. Blockchain Technology
The Department of Technology Services will provide an
overview of blockchain technology along with insights for its potential
application.

6. State Cyber Center and Data Security
The Department of
Technology Services will present on establishing a central, unified state
interface for coordinating cybersecurity monitoring, sharing information,
performing cybersecurity threat analysis, and promoting shared and real-time
situational awareness between and among executive branch agencies.

7. High Resolution Aerial Photos for the Utah Automated
Geographic Reference Center (AGRC)
The Department of
Technology Services (DTS) will present its request for funding that would allow
DTS to regularly update the high-resolution aerial photos on the AGRC to
reflect the state’s continuously changing landscape. Over 300 state and local
government agencies and private sector companies use the aerial photography to
create and manage map data.

8. Damage to Underground Utilities Facilities
Stakeholders will present on potential
limits to an operator's claim against an excavator for damage to underground
utility facilities resulting from an excavator's violation of requirements
related to excavation. (Related legislation: 2018 H.B. 455)

9. Cyber Center Tour
Available committee members will tour the Department of
Technology Services’ (DTS) cyber center. The cyber center provides a central
location for DTS, Public Safety, the Attorney General’s office, and other
government employees to share intelligence and tactics and respond to events in
a more coordinated fashion.
