The committee received several reports required by statute and will discuss the reports’ findings.

3.    Draft Legislation “Administrative Appeal Rights”

The committee will consider draft legislation to provide a complainant a right to appeal a decision issued by the Division of Antidiscrimination and Labor to a Labor Commission administrative law judge or to state district court for de novo review. The committee opened a bill file in June to address the matter.

4.    Draft Legislation “Massage Therapy Practice Act Amendments”

The committee will consider draft legislation that modifies exemptions from licensure in the Massage Therapy Practice Act by exempting a Bowenwork practitioner from being required to be licensed as a massage therapist and by amending provisions related to reflexology and foot zone therapy.
