1.    Committee Opening Business

2.    Transportation Commission

The committee will hear a presentation from the Transportation Commission regarding the duties and activities of the commission.

3.    Utah Department of Transportation Procurement (Draft Legislation)

The committee will consider draft legislation 2019FL-0622/003, “Department of Transportation Procurement Authority,” which broadens the executive director's procurement authority to include purchases necessary to achieve the statutory functions and responsibilities of the department.

4.    Transportation Sales Tax Amendments (Draft Legislation)

The committee will consider draft legislation 2019FL-0565/001, “Transportation Sales Tax Amendments,” which combines two sales tax rates into one equivalent rate.

5.    Driver License Modifications

The committee will discuss potential legislative changes to Utah’s drivers licenses to bring them into compliance with federal Real ID requirements.

6.    Toll Collections for Out of State or Rental Vehicles

The committee will hear a presentation from the Utah Department of Transportation regarding a statutorily required study of methods to collect tolls or other penalties from out of state or rental vehicles, conducted by the department, the Driver License Division, and the Division of Motor Vehicles.

7.    Future of Frontrunner

The committee will hear a presentation from the Utah Transit Authority regarding a recently completed study titled “The Future of Frontrunner.”

8.    Autonomous Vehicles

The committee will hear a brief update on the potential autonomous vehicles legislation discussed at an earlier meeting and will consider whether to open a committee bill file on the topic.
