·         UN Undersecretary Site Visit
The Committee will hear an update on the March 28, 2019, site visit by United Nations Undersecretary for Global Communications, Alison Smale, pertaining to the 68th United Nations Civil Society Conference to be hosted by Salt Lake City in August 2019.

·         UN Site Inspection
The Committee will hear an update on the April 15, 2019, site visit by United Nations Site Inspection Team led by Maruxa Cardama in preparation for the 68th United Nations Civil Society Conference.

·         State of Jalisco, Mexico Delegation Visit
The Committee will hear an update on the plans for a visit to Utah by a delegation from the state of Jalisco, Mexico to discuss possible areas of collaboration in the fields of trade, tourism, agriculture, education, and technology.

·         Washington, D.C. Chinese Embassy Delegation Visit
The Committee will hear an update of the March 31-April 4, 2019, visit by Minister Counsellor, Futao Chen, and First Secretary for Science & Technology, Huanzhao Zhang, from the Chinise Embassy in Washington, D.C. to Utah to investigate opportunities to import Uintah Basin waxy crude.

·         Romanian Trade Mission
The Committee will hear an update on the April 11, 2019, Romanian Trade Mission, organized by Utah Honorary Romanian Consul, Mircea Divricean, at Camp Kostopulos.

3.    Discussion of future United Nations visits

The Committee will discuss the Legislature’s participation, including the role of the 4-person subcommittee of the International Relations and Trade Committee (Sen. Anderegg, Sen. Escamilla, Rep. Wheatley, Rep. McKell) for the ongoing planning and hosting of the 68th UN Civil Society Conference in August, 2019.

4.    Discussion of Spike 150 events

The Committee will discuss plans and assignments related to hosting Liaoning Province and other delegations visiting from Chinese provinces and cities as part of Spike 150 festivities May 8-12, 2019.
