1.     8:30 a.m.      Call to Order 

 

2.     8:35 a.m.      Approval of Minutes (June 18, 2019)

 

3.     8:40 a.m.      Legislative Audit – University Neuropsychiatric Institute and Crisis Services

The Legislative Audit Subcommittee referred the performance audit on the University Neuropsychiatric Institute and Crisis Services to the subcommittee for further review and action. The Audit Subcommittee requests that the Public Education Appropriations Subcommittee “determine whether appropriate action is being taken to address audit findings” and by motion and vote reach one or more of the following conclusions:

·        Draft legislation for the next legislative session, if applicable;

·        Conclude that the issues are significant but that more time is needed to develop solutions and consensus; or

·        Conclude that there is insufficient committee support to study the issue further.   

 

4.     9:10 a.m.      Accountable Process Budget – Detailed Issue Study

Subcommittee staff will lead the subcommittee in a discussion and present recommendations on the following budgets: Enhancement for At-Risk Students, Youth-in-Custody, Adult Education, and School Building Programs.

Local Board representatives from Canyons, Granite, and Jordan school districts will share their strategies for teacher compensation and how they plan to pay associated costs.

·       Canyons School District: Nancy Tingey, Board Chair; Leon Wilcox, CFO; Steve Dimond, Human Resource Director

·       Jordan School District: Matt Young, Chair of Board Finance Committee; Anthony Godfrey, Superintendent; John Larsen, Business Administrator
