In the September 18, 2019, meeting the committee voted to open a bill file to amend three sections of code related to public education. The committee will consider this draft legislation.

3.    School Meals Program

In the September 18, 2019, meeting the committee voted to open a bill file, or if necessary two bill files, to amend the school lunch program based on recommendations from the Utah State Board of Education. The committee will consider this draft legislation.

4.    Electronic Cigarette Use by Minors

In the September 18, 2019, meeting the committee voted to open a bill file, or if necessary two bill files, to address recommendations developed by a working group that studied the use of electronic cigarettes by minors. The committee will consider this draft legislation.

5.    Early Childhood Learning – Quality Instruction in Preschool through Grade 3

The committee will discuss improving the effectiveness of preschool through grade 3 instruction through job-embedded coaching.
