2.    Adoption of Study Items

The committee will review proposed interim study items for the 2022 Business and Labor Interim Committee, may modify the study item list, and will adopt the study item list.

3.    Board of Credit Union Advisors

Absent further action by the Legislature, Utah Code Ann. § 7-9-43, which creates the Board of Credit Union Advisors, will be repealed July 1, 2023. The committee will conduct a sunset review of the statute and determine if it should be reauthorized for up to 10 years, with or without amendments, or allowed to expire.

The committee will study how the medical cannabis and financial services industries interact and discuss potential policy changes.

5.    Duties and Powers of the Insurance Commissioner

Absent further action by the Legislature, Utah Code Ann. § 31A-2-217, Coordination with other states, which relates to the duties and powers of the Insurance Commissioner, will be repealed July 1, 2023. The committee will conduct a sunset review of the statute and determine if it should be reauthorized for up to 10 years, with or without amendments, or allowed to expire.

6.    Collection Agencies

The committee will review Utah Code Ann., Title 12, Collection Agencies, and determine whether it is still serving its intended purposes or if it needs updating.

7.    Hearing Instrument Specialist Licensing Act

Absent further action by the Legislature, Utah Code Ann., Title 58, Chapter 46a, Hearing Instrument Specialist Licensing Act, will be repealed July 1, 2023. The committee will conduct a sunset review of the statute and determine if it should be reauthorized for up to 10 years, with or without amendments, or allowed to expire.
