commission is required by Utah Code Subsection 73-27-103(5) to study water conservation
in the state on public and private land, including programs and policies to
promote water conservation and support existing water rights. The commission
will discuss the Agricultural Water Optimization Grant Program, the
Agricultural Water Optimization Task Force, and efforts to conserve water
through agricultural uses.

Watersheds Council Report
The
Utah Watersheds Council was created by the Legislature in the 2020
General Session and is tasked with encouraging and
facilitating discussion and collaboration relating to water interests,
supporting local watersheds councils, and making recommendations to the
Governor and Legislature on water issues.
The commission will receive a status update on the creation of the state
council and the local watersheds councils.
