2.    Regulated Occupation Review: Mental and Behavioral Health Occupations

The Office of Professional Licensure Review (OPLR) is required to conduct a review of each regulated occupation at least once every 10 years. In 2022, OPLR proposed and received approval to focus its periodic review in 2023 on regulated mental and behavioral health occupations. OPLR will present its review findings and recommendations to the committee.

3.    Insurance Coverage for Ambulance Supplies and Medications

A licensed ground ambulance provider may charge a patient for supplies and for providing supplies, medications, and administering medications used on an emergency response. The committee will discuss capping the cost of supplies and medications and whether an insurance provider should be required to provide benefits for ground ambulance supplies and medications to customers.

4.    Review of the Charitable Solicitations Act

The Division of Consumer Protection will present its review of the Charitable Solicitations Act and discuss potential revisions.

5.    Draft Legislation “Massage Therapy Practice Act Amendments”

The committee will consider draft legislation, “Massage Therapy Practice Act Amendments,” which extends the sunset date for the Massage Therapy Practice Act.

6.    Residence Lien Recovery Fund

The Utah Construction Suppliers Association commissioned a study on the Residence Lien Recovery Fund through the Utah Foundation. The committee will hear possible ways to address issues that arise if the fund runs out of funding.
