· Call to order and approval of the minutes from the October 4, 2023 meeting

2. Justice Court Reform Proposal and Timeline

The Task Force will discuss the Chairs’ proposal to establish a new trial court of record with jurisdiction over all misdemeanors, small claims when the plaintiff is a business, third-party debt collection, and evictions. The Task Force will also discuss the proposed timeline to pilot the new court starting July 2025 with full implementation by July 2030.

3. Draft Joint Resolution Supporting Justice Court Reform

The Task Force will discuss a draft joint resolution expressing the Legislature’s support for justice court reform and the creation and phased implementation of a new trial court of record.

4. Draft Committee Bill on Justice Court Reform Task Force Sunset Extension

The Task Force will discuss a draft committee bill that extends the sunset date for the Justice Court Reform Task Force from July 1, 2025 to July 1, 2026.
