2.    Criminal Code Amendments

The committee will discuss 2024 General Session draft legislation, “Criminal Code Amendments,” which makes changes to criminal offenses in Title 76, Utah Criminal Code.

3.    Domestic Violence Modifications

The committee will discuss 2024 General Session draft legislation, “Domestic Violence Modifications,” which amends the definition of domestic violence in Title 77, Chapter 36, Cohabitant Abuse Procedures Act.

4.    School Safety Amendments

The committee will discuss 2024 General Session draft legislation, “School Safety Amendments,” which addresses the recommendations of the School Security Task Force.

5.    Drug Testing Amendments

The committee will discuss 2024 General Session draft legislation, “DUI Testing Amendments,” which amends provisions related to testing of bodily fluids for purposes of an investigation of driving under the influence.

6.    Firearm Modifications

The committee will discuss 2024 General Session draft legislation, “Firearm Modifications,” which addresses the punishment for individuals who use or possess a firearm while distributing illegal drugs.

7.    Public Safety Data Amendments

The committee will discuss 2024 General Session draft legislation, “Public Safety Data Amendments,” which amends and enacts provisions related to the collection and reporting of public safety data.

8.    First Responder Mental Health Services Grant Program Amendments

The committee will discuss 2024 General Session draft legislation, “First Responder Mental Health Services Grant Program Amendments,” which makes changes to the First Responder Mental Health Services Grant Program.

9.    Corrections Housing and Security Audit

The committee will receive a presentation from the Office of the Legislative Auditor General on their recent report, “A Performance Audit of the Utah State Correctional Facility: An Examination of Staffing, Culture, Safety, and Security.”

10.  JRI Annual Report (CCJJ)

The committee will receive a report from the Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice on the progress made on certain goals of the Justice Reinvestment Initiative.
