1.    Committee Business

·         Call to order and approval of the minutes from the October 11, 2023 meeting

 

2.    Committee Bill on Sunset Extension of the Interdisciplinary Parental Representation Pilot Program

The committee will consider draft legislation that extends the sunset of the Interdisciplinary Parental Representation Pilot Program from December 31, 2024 to December 31, 2026.

3.    Parental Rights Amendments

The committee will consider draft legislation that clarifies the requirements and procedure for voluntary relinquishment of parental rights.

4.    Committee Bill on Employment Confidentiality Amendments

The committee will consider draft legislation that makes void and unenforceable nondisclosure and non-disparagement clauses in employment contracts and settlement agreements regarding sexual harassment and sexual assault disputes.

5.    Justice Court Reform Update

The committee will receive an update from the Justice Court Reform Task Force and consider a draft resolution expressing support for justice court reform and draft legislation extending the sunset of the task force.

6.    Committee Bill on Restitution Amendments

The committee will consider draft legislation that allows eligible individuals to request that the Office of State Debt Collection credit a portion of restitution payments against certain debts owed to the state.

7.    Mental Health and Criminal Justice Working Group Update

The committee will receive an update regarding the working group that the committee authorized to study issues related to mental health and criminal justice and will consider possible amendments to civil commitment and assisted outpatient treatment.

8.    Committee Bill on Airport Law Enforcement Amendments

The committee will consider draft legislation that provides for the Department of Public Safety and the Utah Highway Patrol to assume law enforcement services for certain airports under certain conditions.

9.    Committee Bill on Sexual Offenses Amendments

The committee will consider draft legislation clarifying the conduct required for an actor to be guilty of certain sexual crimes committed against children.
