the current administration signed four executive orders related to increasing
rapid deployment of advanced nuclear technologies in the U.S. The committee
will hear from the Office of Energy Development on the significance of the
orders.

Valar Atomics Nuclear Test Reactor 9:00

Valar
Atomics partnered with the San Rafael Energy Research Center to have a new
nuclear test reactor running by 2026. The committee will hear about the plan
for the new test reactor.

The
committee will hear about nuclear supply chain opportunities in Utah.

Nuclear
manufacturing is a critical piece of the nuclear power industry. The committee
will hear from Rep. Albrecht on the necessity of signaling support for this
industry to be in Utah.

Utah Broadband Center 10:30 – 11:00AM
In May 2025,
the current administration cancelled, or made changes to certain federal
broadband programs intended to fund state-led programs to address barriers to
broadband access. Considering the cancellation, the Utah Broadband Center has
been asked:

the Utah Broadband Center administers?

What specific federal broadband funding programs
have been cut, and has that impacted Utah's broadband deployment initiatives?

If impacted, have you identified alternative funding
sources (state, private, local, philanthropic)? What is the status of those
