1.    Committee Business

·         Approval of the minutes of the May 21, 2025, meeting

 

2.    State-Endorsed Digital Identify

The committee will discuss the implementation of 2025 General Session S.B. 260, "Individual Digital Identity Amendments," which requires the Department of Government Operations to study and identify best practices, and propose policies, procedures, standards, and technology to be incorporated in the state-endorsed digital identity program.

 

3.    Artificial Intelligence

The committee will study the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for state operations, including an exploration of political deepfakes and AI’s impact on elections.  

 

4.    Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM) Operations and Costs

The committee will receive an update from the Department of Government Operations regarding the working group established to evaluate DFCM's operations and effectiveness in its role of planning, constructing, managing, maintaining, and disposing of the state's building portfolio.

 

5.    Document Authentication Services

The committee will discuss the lieutenant governor’s duties related to document authentication (apostille and certificate of authentication), including the customer experience for individuals who require that service.

 

6.    Signature Gathering and Verification

The committee will study existing law and procedures related to signature gathering and verification for candidate petitions, citizen initiatives, and referenda, including recent audit findings and proposed statutory changes.
