2.    Education Issues

The commission will receive information and discuss federal involvement in education issues. The discussion will cover background information on the laws regarding education, the history of federal involvement in public education, the entanglements between federal actions and state jurisdiction on education issues, and what Utah can do to disentangle the education system.

3.    Implementation of H.B. 488, 2025 General Session

The commission will discuss the implementation of H.B. 488, 2025 General Session including an overview of efforts at the recent NCSL Legislative Summit in Boston, preparations for an annual federalism summit, outreach to other states, and planning for a national federalism commission of the states.
