4.    Draft Legislation: Property Tax Rate Amendments

This draft legislation limits the total amount of additional property tax revenue a taxing entity may obtain through truth-in-taxation, except if obtained for purposes of funding disaster response and recovery.

5.    Draft Legislation: Taxpayer Information Sharing Amendments

This draft legislation requires the Driver License Division to provide county assessors with certain personal identifying information for each person issued a driver license and limits a county assessor’s use of information provided by the Driver License Division to the purpose of verifying a property owner’s eligibility to receive a residential exemption.

6.    Draft Legislation: Vehicle Registration and Insurance Amendments

This draft legislation amends a provision to require a vehicle owner to maintain liability insurance on a vehicle if the vehicle is operated on a highway, not merely registered.

7.    Draft Legislation: Dyed Diesel Fuel Search Amendments

This draft legislation establishes that a government official may only inspect a vehicle for a dyed diesel fuel violation if the official has probable cause that a dyed diesel fuel violation has occurred, has consent of the owner of the vehicle, or is conducting the search at a port-of-entry in compliance with Section 72-9-501.
