·         Call to order and approval of the minutes of the November 19, 2025, meeting

2.    Judiciary Interim Committee 2026 Study Items

The committee will review the list of items that have been proposed for interim study, may modify the list, and will adopt the proposed or amended list of study items. Per JR7-1-602, the committee may also authorize the chairs to independently open bill files related to study items.

3.    Appellate Decisions that Call for Legislative Action

The Utah Court of Appeals and the Utah Supreme Court sometimes suggest in their written opinions that the Legislature take an action, such as clarifying a certain provision of a statute. Staff will review the 2025-26 appellate decisions that call for legislative action.

4.    Sunset Review of the Domestic Violence Offender Treatment Board

The committee will review the Domestic Violence Offender Treatment Board, which is scheduled to sunset on July 1, 2027. The board establishes and disseminates best practice standards for domestic violence offender evaluation and treatment and certifies providers for use by courts.
