groupid="2" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="end">The systems of plane coordinates that have been established by the National Ocean <ln numlevel="1" lineno="38" slineno="1-4"/>Service/National Geodetic Survey (formerly the United States Coast and Geodetic <ln numlevel="1" lineno="39" slineno="1-5"/>Survey) or its successors for defining and stating the geographic positions or locations of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="40" slineno="1-6"/>points on the surface of the earth within the state of Utah are known and designated as <ln numlevel="1" lineno="41" slineno="1-7"/>the Utah Coordinate System of 1927 and the Utah Coordinate System of 1983.</amend><amendoutend style="2"/></subsection><subsection ssid="22-null-2" dnum="2-o:_-e" numlevel="1" North-south and east-west coordinate values.</bold></catline><sectionText lineno="83"><para/><amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="49" groupid="42" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both"><tab/>The plane coordinate values for a point on the earth's surface used to express the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="84" slineno="3-4"/>geographic position or location or point in the appropriate zone of this system shall consist of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="85" slineno="3-5"/>two distances expressed in U.S. survey feet and decimals of a foot when using the Utah <ln numlevel="1" lineno="86" slineno="3-6"/>Coordinate System of 1927 and expressed in meters and decimals of a meter when using the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="87" slineno="3-7"/>Utah Coordinate System of 1983.</amend><amendoutend style="2"/></sectionText><subsection ssid="4-null-1" dnum="1-o:_-e" numlevel="1" lineno="88" slineno="3-8" ea="erase" anum="0" owner="admin" style="2" level="1"><display><amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="1018" style="2" owner="o" level="1" deltag="start">(1)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="82" groupid="68" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="end">One of these distances, known as the "x-coordinate" or "E-coordinate," shall give the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="89" slineno="3-9"/>position in an east-west direction; amendtag="start">(3)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="55" groupid="43" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="end">A person who uses a coordinate system that is similar to the Utah Plane Coordinate <ln numlevel="1" lineno="259" slineno="8-24"/>System, including a system that uses a modified elevation datum, shall include the word <ln numlevel="1" lineno="260" Utah Department of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="293" slineno="10-14"/>Transportation;</subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-7" dnum="d-o" numlevel="1" lineno="294" slineno="10-15" level="2"><display>(d)</display>have <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="119" groupid="109" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">successfully </amend><amendoutend style="2"/>completed a program of qualifying experience <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="70" groupid="61" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">established by <ln numlevel="1" lineno="295" slineno="10-16"/>rule by the division in collaboration with the board</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="60" groupid="51" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">the division makes by rule in <ln numlevel="1" lineno="296" slineno="10-17"/>collaboration with the board</amend>;</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-8" dnum="e-o" numlevel="1" lineno="297" slineno="10-18" level="2"><display>(e)</display>have <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="120" groupid="110" style="2" slineno="10-28"/>degree from an engineering program meeting criteria <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="76" groupid="67" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">established by rule by the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="308" slineno="10-29"/>division in collaboration with the board</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="64" groupid="55" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">the division makes by rule in collaboration <ln numlevel="1" lineno="309" slineno="10-30"/>with the board</amend>;</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-14" dnum="d-o" numlevel="1" lineno="310" slineno="10-31" level="2"><display>(d)</display>have <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="124" groupid="113" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">successfully </amend><amendoutend style="2"/>completed three years of licensed professional engineering <ln numlevel="1" division in collaboration with the board, except <ln numlevel="1" lineno="312" slineno="10-33"/>that prior to January 1, 2009, an applicant for licensure may submit a signed affidavit <ln numlevel="1" lineno="313" slineno="10-34"/>in a form prescribed by the division stating that the applicant is currently engaged in <ln numlevel="1" lineno="314" slineno="10-35"/>the practice of structural engineering</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="138" groupid="127" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">the division makes by rule in collaboration with <ln numlevel="1" lineno="315" slineno="10-36"/>the board</amend>;</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-15" dnum="e-o" numlevel="1" lineno="316" slineno="10-37" level="2"><display>(e)</display>have <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="126" groupid="115" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">successfully </amend><amendoutend style="2"/>passed examinations <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="80" groupid="71" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">established by rule by the division in <ln numlevel="1" lineno="317" slineno="10-38"/>collaboration with the board, except that prior to January 1, 2009, an applicant for <ln numlevel="1" lineno="318" slineno="10-39"/>licensure may submit a signed affidavit in a form prescribed by the division stating <ln numlevel="1" lineno="319" slineno="10-40"/>that the applicant is currently engaged in the practice of structural engineering</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="66" groupid="57" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="320" slineno="10-41"/>division makes by rule in collaboration with the board</amend>; and</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-16" dnum="f-o" numlevel="1" lineno="321" slineno="10-42" level="2"><display>(f)</display>meet with the board or representative of the division upon request for the purpose of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="322" slineno="10-43"/>evaluating the applicant's qualification for licensure.</subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-17" dnum="3-o" numlevel="1" lineno="323" slineno="10-44" level="1"><display>(3)</display>Each applicant for licensure as a professional land surveyor shall:<subsection ssid="20-null-18" dnum="a-o" numlevel="1" lineno="324" slineno="10-45" level="2"><display>(a)</display>submit an application in a form <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="12" groupid="11" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">approved by the division</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="10" groupid="9" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">the division approves</amend>;</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-19" dnum="b-o" numlevel="1" lineno="325" slineno="10-46" level="2"><display>(b)</display>pay a fee <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="14" groupid="13" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">determined by numlevel="1" lineno="327" slineno="10-48" level="2" space="false"><display>(c)</display><subsection ssid="20-null-21" dnum="i-o:_-e" ea="erase" anum="0" owner="admin" style="2" level="3" placement="sameline"><display><amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="1109" style="2" owner="o" level="1" deltag="both">(i)</amend><amendoutend style="2"/></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="6" groupid="5" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">meet one of the following education and experience requirements:</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="20-38" dnum="_-o:i-e" numlevel="1" lineno="328" slineno="10-49" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="admin" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1110" style="1" owner="e" level="1" amendtag="both">(i)</amend></display>hold, at a minimum, an <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="118" groupid="108" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">associates</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="117" groupid="107" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">associate</amend> degree from a land surveying program<amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="15" groupid="14" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both"><ln numlevel="1" lineno="329" slineno="10-50"/>, or an equivalent land surveying program, such as a program offered by a <ln numlevel="1" lineno="330" slineno="10-51"/>technical college described in Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="53H-3-1202">53H-3-1202</xref>, established by rule by the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="331" slineno="10-52"/>division in collaboration with the board</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="67" groupid="58" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true"> the division makes by rule in <ln numlevel="1" lineno="332" slineno="10-53"/>collaboration with the board</amend>, and have <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="129" groupid="118" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">successfully completed a program of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="333" slineno="10-54"/>qualifying experience in land surveying established by rule by the division in <ln numlevel="1" lineno="334" slineno="10-55"/>collaboration with the board</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="123" groupid="112" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">completed at least six years of qualifying experience <ln numlevel="1" lineno="335" slineno="10-56"/>in land surveying, as the division determines by rule made in collaboration with <ln numlevel="1" lineno="336" slineno="10-57"/>the board</amend>;<amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="152" groupid="133" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both"> or</amend><amendoutend style="2"/></subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-22" dnum="ii-o:_-e" numlevel="1" lineno="337" slineno="10-58" ea="erase" anum="0" owner="admin" style="2" level="3"><display><amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="1111" style="2" owner="o" level="1" deltag="start">(ii)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="107" groupid="97" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="end">have successfully completed a program of qualifying experience in land <ln numlevel="1" lineno="338" slineno="10-59"/>surveying prior to January 1, 2007, in accordance with rules established by the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="339" slineno="10-60"/>division in collaboration with the board;</amend><amendoutend style="2"/></subsection><subsection ssid="20-39" dnum="_-o:ii-e" numlevel="1" lineno="340" slineno="10-61" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="admin" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1112" style="1" owner="e" level="1" amendtag="start">(ii)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="23" groupid="19" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="end">hold a bachelor's degree from a land surveying program, or an equivalent land <ln numlevel="1" lineno="341" slineno="10-62"/>surveying program that the division approves by rule in collaboration with the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="342" slineno="10-63"/>board, and have completed at least four years of qualifying experience in land <ln numlevel="1" lineno="343" slineno="10-64"/>surveying, as the division determines by rule in collaboration with the board;</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="20-40" dnum="_-o:iii-e" numlevel="1" lineno="344" slineno="10-65" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="admin" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1113" style="1" owner="e" level="1" amendtag="start">(iii)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="31" groupid="26" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="end">hold a high school diploma, or the equivalent of a recognized high school <ln numlevel="1" lineno="345" slineno="10-66"/>diploma, and have completed<marker pairid="144"/><marker pairid="145"/> at least 10 years of qualifying experience in land <ln numlevel="1" lineno="346" slineno="10-67"/>surveying, as the division determines by rule in collaboration with the board; or</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="20-41" dnum="_-o:iv-e" numlevel="1" lineno="347" slineno="10-68" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="admin" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1114" style="1" owner="e" level="1" amendtag="start">(iv)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="36" groupid="30" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="end">hold a professional land surveying license, or equivalent license in the United <ln numlevel="1" lineno="348" slineno="10-69"/>States, and practice as a professional land surveyor in the United States for at least <ln numlevel="1" lineno="349" slineno="10-70"/>one year;</amend></subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-23" dnum="d-o" numlevel="1" lineno="350" slineno="10-71" level="2"><display>(d)</display>have <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="131" groupid="120" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">successfully </amend><amendoutend style="2"/>passed examinations <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="94" groupid="85" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">established by rule by the division in <ln numlevel="1" lineno="351" slineno="10-72"/>collaboration with the board</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="89" groupid="80" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">the division approves by rule in collaboration with the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="352" slineno="10-73"/>board</amend>; and</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-24" dnum="e-o" numlevel="1" lineno="353" slineno="10-74" level="2"><display>(e)</display>meet with the board or representative of the division upon request for the purpose of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="354" slineno="10-75"/>evaluating the applicant's qualification for licensure.</subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-25" dnum="4-o" numlevel="1" lineno="355" slineno="10-76" level="1"><display>(4)</display>Each applicant for licensure by endorsement shall:<subsection ssid="20-null-26" dnum="a-o" numlevel="1" lineno="356" slineno="10-77" level="2"><display>(a)</display>submit an application in a form <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="95" groupid="86" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">approved by the division</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="90" groupid="81" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">the division approves</amend>;</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-27" dnum="b-o" numlevel="1" lineno="357" slineno="10-78" level="2"><display>(b)</display>pay a fee <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" amendtag="both" space="true">determines in accordance with</amend> <ln numlevel="1" lineno="358" slineno="10-79"/>Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="63J-1-504" start="0">63J-1-504</xref>;</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-28" dnum="c-o" numlevel="1" lineno="359" slineno="10-80" level="2"><display>(c)</display>submit satisfactory evidence of:<subsection ssid="20-null-29" dnum="i-o" numlevel="1" lineno="360" slineno="10-81" level="3"><display>(i)</display>current licensure in good standing in a jurisdiction <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="98" groupid="89" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">recognized by rule by the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="361" slineno="10-82"/>division in collaboration with the board</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="92" groupid="83" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">the division recognizes by rule in <ln numlevel="1" lineno="362" slineno="10-83"/>collaboration with the board</amend>;</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-30" dnum="ii-o" numlevel="1" lineno="363" slineno="10-84" level="3"><display>(ii)</display>having <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="133" groupid="122" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">successfully </amend><amendoutend style="2"/>passed an examination <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="99" groupid="90" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">established by rule by the division <ln numlevel="1" lineno="364" slineno="10-85"/>in collaboration with the board</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="93" groupid="84" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">the division approves by rule in collaboration with <ln numlevel="1" lineno="365" slineno="10-86"/>the board</amend>; and</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-31" dnum="iii-o" numlevel="1" lineno="366" slineno="10-87" level="3"><display>(iii)</display>full-time employment as a principal for at least five of the last seven years <ln numlevel="1" lineno="367" slineno="10-88"/>immediately <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="151" groupid="132" style="2" owner="admin" level="1" deltag="both">preceding</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="150" groupid="131" style="1" owner="admin" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">before</amend> the date of the application as a:<subsection ssid="20-null-32" dnum="A-o" numlevel="1" lineno="368" slineno="10-89" level="4"><display>(A)</display>licensed professional engineer for licensure as a professional engineer;</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-33" dnum="B-o" numlevel="1" lineno="369" slineno="10-90" level="4"><display>(B)</display>licensed professional structural engineer for licensure as a structural engineer; <ln numlevel="1" lineno="370" slineno="10-91"/>or</subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-34" dnum="C-o" numlevel="1" lineno="371" slineno="10-92" level="4"><display>(C)</display>licensed professional land surveyor for licensure as a professional land <ln numlevel="1" lineno="372" slineno="10-93"/>surveyor; and</subsection></subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-35" dnum="d-o" numlevel="1" lineno="373" slineno="10-94" level="2"><display>(d)</display>meet with the board or representative of the division upon request for the purpose of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="374" slineno="10-95"/>evaluating the applicant's qualifications for license.</subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="20-null-36" dnum="5-o" numlevel="1" lineno="375" slineno="10-96" level="1"><display>(5)</display>The rules made to implement this section shall be in accordance with <xref depth="1" refnumber="63G-3" start="0">Title 63G, Chapter <ln numlevel="1" lineno="376" slineno="10-97"/>3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act</xref>.</subsection></section></bsec><bsec buid="16" type="repealer"
