Section <bold>26B-7-126</bold> is enacted to read:</secline><catline lineno="29"><bold>26B-7-126<parens/>. Uterine fibroid research and education.</bold></catline><subsection ssid="6-1" dnum="_-o:1-i" numlevel="1" lineno="30" slineno="1-3" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="1" placement="noreturn"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1000" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(1)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="3" groupid="3" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">As used in this section:</amend><subsection ssid="6-3" dnum="_-o:a-i" numlevel="1" lineno="31" slineno="1-4" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1001" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(a)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="165" groupid="124" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">"Health care provider" means the same as that term is defined in Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="78B-3-403">78B-3-403</xref>.</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-30" dnum="_-o:b-i" numlevel="1" lineno="32" slineno="1-5" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1002" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(b)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="169" groupid="127" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">"Medical research organization" means an institution of higher education, a research <ln numlevel="1" lineno="33" slineno="1-6"/>organization, or a healthcare facility that conducts medical research:</amend><subsection ssid="6-32" dnum="_-o:i-i" numlevel="1" lineno="34" slineno="1-7" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1003" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(i)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="180" groupid="136" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">that is approved by an institutional review board; and</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-33" dnum="_-o:ii-i" numlevel="1" lineno="35" slineno="1-8" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1004" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(ii)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="195" groupid="147" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">in accordance with applicable ethics requirements for human subject research.</amend></subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="6-28" dnum="_-o:c-i" numlevel="1" lineno="36" slineno="1-9" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2" space="false"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1005" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(c)</amend></display><subsection ssid="6-29" dnum="_-o:i-i" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3" placement="sameline"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1006" style="1" owner="i" level="1">(i)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="164" groupid="123" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">"Uterine fibroid" means a non-cancerous growth in or on the uterus.</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-5" dnum="_-o:ii-i" numlevel="1" lineno="37" slineno="1-10" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1007" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(ii)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="21" groupid="16" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">"Uterine fibroid" includes a leiomyoma or a myoma.</amend></subsection></subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="6-6" dnum="_-o:2-i" numlevel="1" lineno="38" slineno="1-11" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="1"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1008" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(2)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="27" groupid="20" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">The department shall coordinate efforts related to research of and education about <ln numlevel="1" lineno="39" slineno="1-12"/>uterine fibroids.</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-22" dnum="_-o:3-i" numlevel="1" lineno="40" slineno="1-13" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="1"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1009" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(3)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="114" groupid="87" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">The department's coordination efforts shall encourage:</amend><subsection ssid="6-7" dnum="_-o:a-i" numlevel="1" lineno="41" slineno="1-14" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1010" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(a)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="35" groupid="27" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">research on:</amend><subsection ssid="6-9" dnum="_-o:i-i" numlevel="1" lineno="42" slineno="1-15" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1011" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(i)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="45" groupid="35" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">how frequently individuals in the state are diagnosed with uterine fibroids;</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-17" dnum="_-o:ii-i" numlevel="1" lineno="43" slineno="1-16" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1012" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(ii)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="90" groupid="69" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">the ages at which individuals are diagnosed with, and treated for, uterine fibroids;</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-12" dnum="_-o:iii-i" numlevel="1" lineno="44" slineno="1-17" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1013" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(iii)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="58" groupid="45" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">health care services delivered to individuals in the state diagnosed with uterine <ln numlevel="1" lineno="45" slineno="1-18"/>fibroids;</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-27" dnum="_-o:iv-i" numlevel="1" lineno="46" slineno="1-19" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1014" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(iv)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="150" groupid="113" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">how many hysterectomies are performed:</amend><subsection ssid="6-36" dnum="_-o:A-i" numlevel="1" lineno="47" slineno="1-20" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="4"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1015" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(A)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="205" groupid="155" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">as a treatment for uterine fibroids; or</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-37" dnum="_-o:B-i" numlevel="1" lineno="48" slineno="1-21" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="4"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1016" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(B)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="211" groupid="160" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">for which uterine fibroids are a factor in performing the hysterectomy;</amend></subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="6-10" dnum="_-o:v-i" numlevel="1" lineno="49" slineno="1-22" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1017" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(v)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="50" groupid="39" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">the availability of non-hysterectomy treatment options for individuals in the state <ln numlevel="1" lineno="50" slineno="1-23"/>diagnosed with uterine fibroids, including drugs and devices; and</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-19" dnum="_-o:vi-i" numlevel="1" lineno="51" slineno="1-24" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1018" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(vi)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="96" groupid="74" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">the impacts of uterine fibroids on reproductive health, including as a barrier to <ln numlevel="1" lineno="52" slineno="1-25"/>reproduction; and</amend></subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="6-8" dnum="_-o:b-i" numlevel="1" lineno="53" slineno="1-26" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1019" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(b)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="40" groupid="31" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">data collection and data sharing related to the subjects described in Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="26B-7-126(3)(a)">(3)(a)</xref>.</amend></subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="6-13" dnum="_-o:4-i" numlevel="1" lineno="54" slineno="1-27" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="1"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1020" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(4)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="63" groupid="49" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">The department's coordination efforts shall include education for health care providers <ln numlevel="1" lineno="55" slineno="1-28"/>and patients about uterine fibroids to ensure individuals with symptomatic uterine <ln numlevel="1" lineno="56" slineno="1-29"/>fibroids receive appropriate treatment, including education about:</amend><subsection ssid="6-23" dnum="_-o:a-i" numlevel="1" lineno="57" slineno="1-30" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1021" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(a)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="121" groupid="91" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">the availability and appropriateness of non-hysterectomy treatment options; and</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-24" dnum="_-o:b-i" numlevel="1" lineno="58" slineno="1-31" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1022" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(b)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="138" groupid="104" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">the impacts of uterine fibroids on reproductive health, including as a barrier to <ln numlevel="1" lineno="59" slineno="1-32"/>reproduction.</amend></subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="6-14" dnum="_-o:5-i" numlevel="1" lineno="60" slineno="1-33" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="1"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1023" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(5)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="70" groupid="54" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">In fulfilling the department's duties described in Subsections <xref depth="4" refnumber="26B-7-126(2)">(2)</xref> through <xref depth="4" refnumber="26B-7-126(4)">(4)</xref>, the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="61" slineno="1-34"/>department may coordinate with medical research organizations in the state.</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-15" dnum="_-o:6-i" numlevel="1" lineno="62" slineno="1-35" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="1"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1024" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(6)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="76" groupid="59" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">In accordance with Chapter 8, Part 5, Utah Health Data Authority, and other applicable <ln numlevel="1" lineno="63" slineno="1-36"/>laws, the department may enter into an agreement with medical research organizations <ln numlevel="1" lineno="64" slineno="1-37"/>in the state to share identifiable health data for the purpose of fulfilling the requirements <ln numlevel="1" lineno="65" slineno="1-38"/>of Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="26B-7-126(3)">(3)</xref>.</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-16" dnum="_-o:7-i" numlevel="1" lineno="66" slineno="1-39" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="1"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1025" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(7)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="86" groupid="66" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">On or before November 1, 2028, and on or before November 1, 2029, the department <ln numlevel="1" lineno="67" slineno="1-40"/>shall report to the Health and Human Services Interim Committee on:</amend><subsection ssid="6-20" dnum="_-o:a-i" numlevel="1" lineno="68" slineno="1-41" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1026" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(a)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="104" groupid="79" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">the department's coordination efforts related to research as described in Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="26B-7-126(3)(a)"><ln numlevel="1" lineno="69" slineno="1-42"/>(3)(a)</xref>;</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-35" dnum="_-o:b-i" numlevel="1" lineno="70" slineno="1-43" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1027" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(b)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="200" groupid="151" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">any findings related to the research topics described in Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="26B-7-126(3)(a)">(3)(a)</xref>, including, <ln numlevel="1" lineno="71" slineno="1-44"/>in 2029, a comparison to any findings reported in 2028;</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-25" dnum="_-o:c-i" numlevel="1" lineno="72" slineno="1-45" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1028" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(c)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="151" groupid="114" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">the department's coordination efforts related to education for health care providers <ln numlevel="1" lineno="73" slineno="1-46"/>and patients about uterine fibroids;</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-26" dnum="_-o:d-i" numlevel="1" lineno="74" slineno="1-47" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1029" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(d)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="144" groupid="109" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">the department's recommendations, including policy and legislative <ln numlevel="1" lineno="75" slineno="1-48"/>recommendations; and</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="6-21" dnum="_-o:e-i" numlevel="1" lineno="76" slineno="1-49" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1030" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(e)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="109" groupid="83" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">any other data or information the committee requests related to uterine fibroid <ln numlevel="1" lineno="77" slineno="1-50"/>research and education.</amend></subsection></subsection></section></bsec><bsec buid="9" num="63I-2-226" type="amend" src="code" uid="C63I-2-S226_2026050620260506" sort="63I02 02260020260506" numlevel="1" lineno="78" slineno="2-1" sn="2"><section number="63I-2-226" numlevel="1" lineno="79" slineno="2-2" type="amend"><secline lineno="78">Section 2. Section <bold>63I-2-226</bold> is amended to read:</secline><catline lineno="79"><bold>63I-2-226<parens/>. Repeal dates: Titles 26 through 26B.</bold></catline><subsection ssid="9-null-1" dnum="1-o" numlevel="1" lineno="80" slineno="2-3" level="1" placement="noreturn"><display>(1)</display>Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="26B-1-420">26B-1-420</xref>, Cannabis Research Review Board, is repealed July 1, 2025.</subsection><subsection ssid="9-null-2" dnum="2-o" numlevel="1" lineno="81" slineno="2-4" level="1"><display>(2)</display>Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="26B-1-421(9)(a)">26B-1-421(9)(a)</xref>, regarding a report to the Cannabis Research Review <ln numlevel="1" lineno="82" slineno="2-5"/>Board, is repealed July 1, 2025.</subsection><subsection ssid="9-null-3" dnum="3-o" numlevel="1" lineno="83" slineno="2-6" level="1"><display>(3)</display>Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="26B-1-423">26B-1-423</xref>, Rural Physician Loan Repayment Program Advisory Committee -- <ln numlevel="1" lineno="84" slineno="2-7"/>Membership -- Compensation -- Duties, is repealed July 1, 2026.</subsection><subsection ssid="9-null-4" dnum="4-o" numlevel="1" lineno="85" slineno="2-8" level="1"><display>(4)</display>Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="26B-2-243">26B-2-243</xref>, Data collection and reporting requirements concerning incidents of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="86" slineno="2-9"/>abuse, neglect, or exploitation, is repealed July 1, 2027.</subsection><subsection ssid="9-null-5" dnum="5-o" numlevel="1" lineno="87" slineno="2-10" level="1"><display>(5)</display>Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="26B-3-215(5)">26B-3-215(5)</xref>, regarding reporting on coverage for in vitro fertilization and <ln numlevel="1" lineno="88" slineno="2-11"/>genetic testing, is repealed July 1, 2030.</subsection><subsection ssid="9-null-6" dnum="6-o" numlevel="1" lineno="89" slineno="2-12" level="1"><display>(6)</display>Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="26B-4-201(5)">26B-4-201(5)</xref>, regarding the Cannabis Research Review Board, is repealed <ln
