It is proposed to amend Utah Constitution, Article VI, Section 2 to read</secline><catline lineno="31"><bold>Article VI, Section 2<parens/>. [Time and location of budget and general sessions -- <ln numlevel="1" lineno="32" slineno="1-3"/>Location of sessions convened by the Governor or Legislature -- Sessions convened by the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="33" slineno="1-4"/>Legislature.]</bold></catline><subsection ssid="3-null-1" dnum="1-o" numlevel="1" lineno="34" slineno="1-5" level="1" placement="noreturn" space="false"><display>(1)</display><subsection ssid="3-17" dnum="_-o:a-i" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2" placement="sameline"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1001" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="both">(a)</amend></display><amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="3" groupid="3" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" dnum="_-o:b-i" numlevel="1" lineno="36" slineno="1-7" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1002" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(b)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="13" groupid="10" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">An annual budget session of the Legislature, to consider only the budget and <ln numlevel="1" lineno="37" slineno="1-8"/>appropriations, and if approved by two-thirds of the members of each house, bills <ln numlevel="1" lineno="38" slineno="1-9"/>creating policy, shall begin on the day in February designated by statute.</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="3-12" dnum="_-o:c-i" numlevel="1" lineno="39" slineno="1-10" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2" space="false"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1003" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(c)</amend></display><subsection ssid="3-18" dnum="_-o:i-i" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3" placement="sameline"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1004" style="1" owner="i" level="1">(i)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="23" groupid="18" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">A general session of the Legislature shall begin on the day in May designated <ln numlevel="1" lineno="40" slineno="1-11"/>by statute.</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="3-13" dnum="_-o:ii-i" numlevel="1" lineno="41" slineno="1-12" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="3"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1005" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(ii)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="30" groupid="24" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">A general session of the Legislature shall begin on the day in September <ln numlevel="1" lineno="42" slineno="1-13"/>designated by statute.</amend></subsection></subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="3-null-2" dnum="2-o" numlevel="1" lineno="43" slineno="1-14" level="1" space="false"><display>(2)</display><subsection ssid="3-14" dnum="_-o:a-i" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2" placement="sameline"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1007" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="both">(a)</amend></display>A session convened by the Governor under Article VII, Section 6 and a session <ln numlevel="1" lineno="44" slineno="1-15"/>convened by the Legislature under Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="Article VI, Section 2(3)" start="0">(3)</xref> shall be held at the seat of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="45" slineno="1-16"/>government, unless convening at the seat of government is not feasible due to <ln numlevel="1" lineno="46" slineno="1-17"/>epidemic, natural or human-caused disaster, enemy attack, or other public catastrophe.</subsection><subsection ssid="3-15" dnum="_-o:b-i" numlevel="1" lineno="47" slineno="1-18" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="jchristopherson" style="1" level="2"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1008" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(b)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="41" groupid="32" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="end">A session convened by the Governor under Article VII, Section 6, or a session <ln numlevel="1" lineno="48" slineno="1-19"/>convened by the Legislature under Subsection <xref refnumber="3-null-3">(3)</xref> may address any issue that the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="49" slineno="1-20"/>Legislature may consider at the annual budget session or a general session.</amend></subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="3-null-3" dnum="3-o" numlevel="1" lineno="50" slineno="1-21" level="1" space="false"><display>(3)</display><subsection ssid="3-null-4" dnum="a-o" level="2" placement="sameline"><display>(a)</display>The President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives shall by <ln numlevel="1" lineno="51" slineno="1-22"/>joint proclamation convene the Legislature into session if a poll conducted by the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="52" slineno="1-23"/>President and Speaker of their respective houses indicates that two-thirds of all <ln numlevel="1" lineno="53" slineno="1-24"/>members elected to each house are in favor of convening the Legislature into session <ln numlevel="1" lineno="54" slineno="1-25"/>because in their opinion a persistent fiscal crisis, war, natural disaster, or emergency <ln numlevel="1" lineno="55" slineno="1-26"/>in the affairs of the State necessitates convening the Legislature into session.</subsection><subsection ssid="3-null-5" dnum="b-o" numlevel="1" lineno="56" slineno="1-27" level="2"><display>(b)</display>The joint proclamation issued by the President and Speaker shall specify the business <ln numlevel="1" lineno="57" slineno="1-28"/>for which the Legislature is to be convened, and the Legislature may not transact any <ln numlevel="1" lineno="58" slineno="1-29"/>business other than that specified in the joint proclamation, except that the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="59" slineno="1-30"/>Legislature may provide for the expenses of the session and other matters incidental <ln numlevel="1" lineno="60" slineno="1-31"/>to the session.</subsection><subsection ssid="3-null-6" dnum="c-o" numlevel="1" lineno="61" slineno="1-32" level="2"><display>(c)</display>The Legislature may not be convened into session under this Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="Article VI, Section 2(3)" start="0">(3)</xref> during <ln numlevel="1" lineno="62" slineno="1-33"/>the 30 calendar days immediately following the adjournment sine die of <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="44" groupid="35" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both">an annual</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="43" groupid="34" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">a <ln numlevel="1" lineno="63" slineno="1-34"/>budget or a</amend> general session of the Legislature.</subsection><subsection ssid="3-null-7" dnum="d-o" numlevel="1" lineno="64" slineno="1-35" level="2"><display>(d)</display>In a session convened under this Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="Article VI, Section 2(3)" start="0">(3)</xref>, the cumulative amount of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="65" slineno="1-36"/>appropriations that the Legislature makes may not exceed an amount equal to 1% of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="66" slineno="1-37"/>the total amount appropriated by the Legislature for the immediately preceding <ln numlevel="1" lineno="67" slineno="1-38"/>completed fiscal year.</subsection><subsection ssid="3-null-8" dnum="e-o" numlevel="1" lineno="68" slineno="1-39" level="2"><display>(e)</display>Nothing in this Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="Article VI, Section 2(3)" start="0">(3)</xref> affects the Governor's authority to convene the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="69" slineno="1-40"/>Legislature under Article VII, Section 6.</subsection></subsection></section></bsec><bsec buid="4" num="Article VI, Section 16" type="amend" src="const" uid="UC_AVI_S16_2026050620260506" sort="00I06 00160020260506" numlevel="1" lineno="70" slineno="2-1" sn="2"><section number="Article VI, Section 16" numlevel="1" lineno="71" slineno="2-2" type="amend"><secline lineno="70">Section 2. It is proposed to amend Utah Constitution, Article VI, Section 16 to read</secline><catline lineno="71"><bold>Article VI, Section 16<parens/>. [Duration of sessions.]</bold></catline><sectionText lineno="72"><tab/>Except in cases of impeachment:</sectionText><subsection ssid="4-null-1" dnum="1-o" numlevel="1" lineno="73" slineno="2-4" level="1"><display>(1)</display>no <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="9" groupid="9" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both">annual </amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="5" groupid="5" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">budget or </amend>general session of the Legislature may exceed <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="10" groupid="10" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both">45</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="6" groupid="6" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">15</amend> calendar <ln numlevel="1" lineno="74" slineno="2-5"/>days, excluding state holidays and federal holidays;</subsection><subsection ssid="4-null-2" dnum="2-o" numlevel="1" lineno="75" slineno="2-6" level="1"><display>(2)</display>no session of the Legislature convened by the Governor under Article VII, Section 6 <ln numlevel="1" lineno="76" slineno="2-7"/>may exceed 30 calendar days; and</subsection><subsection ssid="4-null-3" dnum="3-o" numlevel="1" lineno="77" slineno="2-8" level="1"><display>(3)</display>no session of the Legislature convened by the Legislature under Article VI, Section 2, <ln numlevel="1" lineno="78" slineno="2-9"/>Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="Article VI, Section 16(3)" start="0">(3)</xref> may exceed 10 calendar days.</subsection></section></bsec><bsec buid="5" num="Article VI, Section 17" type="amend" src="const" uid="UC_AVI_S17_2026050620260506" sort="00I06 00170020260506" numlevel="1" lineno="79" slineno="3-1" sn="3"><section number="Article VI, Section 17" numlevel="1" lineno="80" slineno="3-2" type="amend"><secline lineno="79">Section 3. It is proposed to amend Utah Constitution, Article VI, Section 17 to read</secline><catline lineno="80"><bold>Article VI, Section 17<parens/>. [Impeachment by House.]</bold></catline><subsection ssid="5-null-1" dnum="1-o" numlevel="1" lineno="81" slineno="3-3" level="1" placement="noreturn"><display>(1)</display>The House of Representatives shall have the sole power of impeachment, but in order to <ln numlevel="1" lineno="82" slineno="3-4"/>impeach, two-thirds of all the members elected must vote therefor.</subsection><subsection ssid="5-null-2" dnum="2-o" numlevel="1" lineno="83" slineno="3-5" level="1"><display>(2)</display>If not already convened in <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="3" groupid="3" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both">an annual</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="2" groupid="2" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">a</amend> general session, the House of Representatives <ln numlevel="1" lineno="84" slineno="3-6"/>may convene for the purpose of impeachment if a poll of members conducted by the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="85" slineno="3-7"/>Speaker of the House indicates that two-thirds of the members of the House of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="86" slineno="3-8"/>Representatives are in favor of convening.</subsection></section></bsec><bsec buid="6" num="Article VI, Section 18" type="amend" src="const" uid="UC_AVI_S18_2026050620260506" sort="00I06 00180020260506" numlevel="1" lineno="87" slineno="4-1" sn="4"><section number="Article VI, Section 18" numlevel="1" lineno="88" slineno="4-2" type="amend"><secline lineno="87">Section 4. It is proposed to amend Utah Constitution, Article VI, Section 18 to read</secline><catline lineno="88"><bold>Article VI, Section 18<parens/>. [Trial of impeachment by Senate.]</bold></catline><subsection ssid="6-null-1" dnum="1-o" numlevel="1" lineno="89" slineno="4-3" level="1" placement="noreturn"><display>(1)</display>All impeachments shall be tried by the Senate, and senators, when sitting for that <ln numlevel="1" lineno="90" slineno="4-4"/>purpose, shall take oath or make affirmation to do justice according to the law and the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="91" slineno="4-5"/>evidence.</subsection><subsection ssid="6-null-2" dnum="2-o" numlevel="1" lineno="92" slineno="4-6" level="1"><display>(2)</display>Upon an impeachment by the House of Representatives, the Senate shall, if not already <ln numlevel="1" lineno="93" slineno="4-7"/>convened in <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="3" groupid="3" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both">an annual</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="2" groupid="2" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">a</amend> general session, convene for the purpose of trying the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="94" slineno="4-8"/>impeachment.</subsection><subsection ssid="6-null-3" dnum="3-o" numlevel="1" lineno="95" slineno="4-9" level="1"><display>(3)</display>When the Governor is on trial, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court shall preside.</subsection><subsection ssid="6-null-4" dnum="4-o" numlevel="1" lineno="96" slineno="4-10" level="1"><display>(4)</display>No person shall be convicted without the concurrence of two-thirds of the senators <ln numlevel="1" lineno="97" slineno="4-11"/>elected.</subsection></section></bsec><bsec buid="10" num="Article VI, Section 31" type="amend" src="const" uid="UC_AVI_S31_2026050620260506" sort="00I06 00310020260506" numlevel="1" lineno="98" slineno="5-1" sn="5"><section number="Article VI, Section 31" numlevel="1" lineno="99" slineno="5-2" type="amend"><secline lineno="98">Section 5. [Additional compensation of legislators.]</bold></catline><sectionText lineno="100"><tab/>For attendance at meetings of interim committees established by law to function <ln numlevel="1" lineno="101" slineno="5-4"/>between <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="3" groupid="3" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both">legislative</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="2" groupid="2" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">budget, general, and special</amend> sessions, members of the Legislature shall <ln numlevel="1" lineno="102" slineno="5-5"/>receive additional per diem compensation and mileage at a rate not to exceed that provided in <ln numlevel="1" lineno="103" slineno="5-6"/>this Constitution for <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="4" groupid="4" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both">regular legislative </amend><amendoutend style="2"/>sessions.</sectionText></section></bsec><bsec buid="7" num="Article VII, Section 5" type="amend" src="const" uid="UC_AVII_S5_2026050620260506" sort="00I07 00050020260506" numlevel="1" lineno="104" slineno="6-1" sn="6"><section number="Article VII, Section 5" numlevel="1" lineno="105" slineno="6-2" type="amend"><secline lineno="104">Section 6. It is proposed to amend Utah Constitution, Article VII, Section 5 to read</secline><catline lineno="105"><bold>Article VII, Section 5<parens/>. [Executive power vested in Governor -- Duties -- Legal <ln numlevel="1" lineno="106" slineno="6-3"/>counsel.]</bold></catline><subsection ssid="7-null-1" dnum="1-o" numlevel="1" lineno="107" slineno="6-4" level="1" placement="noreturn"><display>(1)</display>The executive power of the state shall be vested in the Governor who shall see that the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="108" slineno="6-5"/>laws are faithfully executed.</subsection><subsection ssid="7-null-2" dnum="2-o" numlevel="1" lineno="109" slineno="6-6" level="1"><display>(2)</display>The Governor shall transact all executive business with the officers of the government, <ln numlevel="1" lineno="110" slineno="6-7"/>civil and military, and may require information in writing from the officers of the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="111" slineno="6-8"/>Executive Department, and from the officers and managers of state institutions upon any <ln numlevel="1" lineno="112" slineno="6-9"/>subject relating to the condition, management, and expenses of their respective offices <ln numlevel="1" lineno="113" slineno="6-10"/>and institutions. The Governor may at any time when the Legislature is not in session, if <ln numlevel="1" lineno="114" slineno="6-11"/>deemed necessary, appoint a committee to investigate and report to the Governor upon <ln numlevel="1" lineno="115" slineno="6-12"/>the condition of any executive office or state institution.</subsection><subsection ssid="7-null-3" dnum="3-o" numlevel="1" lineno="116" slineno="6-13" level="1"><display>(3)</display>The Governor shall communicate by message the condition of the state to the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="117" slineno="6-14"/>Legislature at <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="5" groupid="5" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both">every annual general</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="4" groupid="4" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">the budget</amend> session and recommend such measures <ln numlevel="1" lineno="118" slineno="6-15"/>as may be deemed expedient.</subsection><subsection ssid="7-null-4" dnum="4-o" numlevel="1" lineno="119" slineno="6-16" level="1"><display>(4)</display>The Governor may appoint legal counsel to advise the Governor.</subsection></section></bsec><bsec buid="8" num="Article VII, Section 12" type="amend" src="const" uid="UC_AVII_S12_2026050620260506" sort="00I07 00120020260506" numlevel="1" lineno="120" slineno="7-1" sn="7"><section number="Article VII, Section 12" numlevel="1" lineno="121" slineno="7-2" type="amend"><secline lineno="120">Section 7. It is proposed to amend Utah Constitution, Article VII, Section 12 to read</secline><catline lineno="121"><bold>Article VII, Section 12<parens/>. [Board of Pardons and Parole -- Appointment -- Powers <ln numlevel="1" lineno="122" slineno="7-3"/>and procedures -- Governor's powers and duties -- Legislature's powers.]</bold></catline><subsection ssid="8-null-1" dnum="1-o" numlevel="1" lineno="123" slineno="7-4" level="1" placement="noreturn"><display>(1)</display>There is created a Board of Pardons and Parole. The Governor shall appoint the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="124" slineno="7-5"/>members of the board with the consent of the Senate. The terms of office shall be as <ln numlevel="1" lineno="125" slineno="7-6"/>provided by statute.</subsection><subsection ssid="8-null-2" dnum="2-o" numlevel="1" lineno="126" slineno="7-7" level="1" space="false"><display>(2)</display><subsection ssid="8-null-3" dnum="a-o" level="2" placement="sameline"><display>(a)</display>The Board of Pardons and Parole, by majority vote and upon other conditions as <ln numlevel="1" lineno="127" slineno="7-8"/>provided by statute, may grant parole, remit fines, forfeitures, and restitution orders, <ln numlevel="1" lineno="128" slineno="7-9"/>commute punishments, and grant pardons after convictions, in all cases except <ln numlevel="1" lineno="129" slineno="7-10"/>treason and impeachments, subject to regulations as provided by statute.</subsection><subsection ssid="8-null-4" dnum="b-o" numlevel="1" lineno="130" slineno="7-11" level="2"><display>(b)</display>A fine, forfeiture, or restitution order may not be remitted and a commutation, <ln numlevel="1" lineno="131" slineno="7-12"/>parole, or pardon may not be granted except after a full hearing before the board, in <ln numlevel="1" lineno="132" slineno="7-13"/>open session, and after previous notice of the time and place of the hearing has been <ln numlevel="1" lineno="133" slineno="7-14"/>given.</subsection><subsection ssid="8-null-5" dnum="c-o" numlevel="1" lineno="134" slineno="7-15" level="2"><display>(c)</display>The proceedings and decisions of the board, the reasons therefor in each case, and the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="135" slineno="7-16"/>dissent of any member who may disagree shall be recorded and filed as provided by <ln numlevel="1" lineno="136" slineno="7-17"/>statute with all papers used upon the hearing.</subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="8-null-6" dnum="3-o" numlevel="1" lineno="137" slineno="7-18" level="1" space="false"><display>(3)</display><subsection ssid="8-null-7" dnum="a-o" level="2" placement="sameline"><display>(a)</display>The Governor may grant respites or reprieves in all cases of convictions for <ln numlevel="1" lineno="138" slineno="7-19"/>offenses against the state except treason or conviction on impeachment. These <ln numlevel="1" lineno="139" slineno="7-20"/>respites or reprieves may not extend beyond the next session of the board. At that <ln numlevel="1" lineno="140" slineno="7-21"/>session, the board shall continue or determine the respite or reprieve, commute the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="141" slineno="7-22"/>punishment, or pardon the offense as <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="0" groupid="0" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both"> </amend><amendoutend style="2"/>provided in this section.</subsection><subsection ssid="8-null-8" dnum="b-o" numlevel="1" lineno="142" slineno="7-23" level="2"><display>(b)</display>In case of conviction for treason, the Governor may suspend execution of the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="143" slineno="7-24"/>sentence until the case is reported to the Legislature at its next <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="1" groupid="1" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both">annual </amend><amendoutend style="2"/>general <ln numlevel="1" lineno="144" slineno="7-25"/>session, when the Legislature shall pardon or commute the sentence, or direct its <ln numlevel="1" lineno="145" slineno="7-26"/>execution. If the Legislature takes no action on the case before adjournment of that <ln numlevel="1" lineno="146" slineno="7-27"/>session, the sentence shall be executed.</subsection></subsection></section></bsec><bsec buid="9" num="Article IX, Section 1" type="amend" src="const" uid="UC_AIX_S1_2026050620260506" sort="00I09 00010020260506" numlevel="1" lineno="147" slineno="8-1" sn="8"><section number="Article IX, Section 1" numlevel="1" lineno="148" slineno="8-2" type="amend"><secline lineno="147">Section 8. It is proposed to amend Utah Constitution, Article IX, Section 1 to read</secline><catline lineno="148"><bold>Article IX, Section 1<parens/>. [Dividing the state into districts.]</bold></catline><sectionText lineno="149"><tab/>No later than the <amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="2" groupid="3" style="2" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" deltag="both">annual general</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1" groupid="2" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">budget</amend> session next following the Legislature's receipt <ln numlevel="1" lineno="150" slineno="8-4"/>of the results of an enumeration made by the authority of the United States, the Legislature <ln numlevel="1" lineno="151" slineno="8-5"/>shall divide the state into congressional, legislative, and other districts accordingly.</sectionText></section></bsec><bsec buid="2" type="uncod" untype="votesub" src="uncod" uid="VS0000" sort="UB" langlock="false" numlevel="1" lineno="152" slineno="9-1" sn="9"><section type="uncod" untype="votesub" display="false" src="uncod"><secline lineno="152">Section 9.  <bold>Submittal to voters.</bold></secline><sectionText lineno="153"><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1" groupid="1" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="both">The lieutenant governor is directed to submit this proposed amendment to the voters of <ln numlevel="1" lineno="154" slineno="9-3"/>the state at the next regular general election in the manner provided by law.</amend></sectionText></section></bsec><bsec buid="1" type="uncod" untype="contingent" src="uncod" uid="CT0000" sort="UC" langlock="false" numlevel="1" lineno="155" slineno="10-1" sn="10"><section type="uncod" untype="contingent" display="false" src="uncod"><secline lineno="155">Section 10.  <bold>Contingent effective date.</bold></secline><sectionText lineno="156"><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1" groupid="1" style="1" owner="jchristopherson" level="1" amendtag="both">If the amendment proposed by this joint resolution is approved by a majority of those <ln numlevel="1" lineno="157" slineno="10-3"/>voting on it at the next regular general election, the amendment shall take effect on January 1, <ln numlevel="1" lineno="158" slineno="10-4"/>2028.</amend></sectionText></section></bsec></bdy><foot><rev><tm>2-11-26 11:22 AM</tm></rev></foot></leg>
