school district receives funds.</subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-2" dnum="2-o" numlevel="1" lineno="147" slineno="3-5" level="1" space="false"><display>(2)</display><subsection ssid="1-null-3" dnum="a-o" level="2" placement="sameline"><display>(a)</display>As described in Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="53F-2-703" start="0">53F-2-703</xref>, the state board shall distribute charter school <ln numlevel="1" lineno="148" slineno="3-6"/>levy per pupil revenues to charter schools.</subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-4" dnum="b-o" numlevel="1" lineno="149" slineno="3-7" level="2"><display>(b)</display>As described in Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="53F-2-704" start="0">53F-2-704</xref>, and subject to future budget constraints, the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="150" slineno="3-8"/>Legislature shall provide an appropriation for charter schools for each charter school <ln numlevel="1" lineno="151" slineno="3-9"/>student enrolled on October 1 to supplement the allocation of charter school levy per <ln numlevel="1" lineno="152" slineno="3-10"/>pupil revenues described in Subsection <xref depth="4" refnumber="53F-2-702(2)(a)" start="0">(2)(a)</xref>.</subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-5" dnum="3-o" numlevel="1" lineno="153" slineno="3-11" level="1"><display>(3)</display>Charter schools are eligible to receive federal funds if they meet all applicable federal <ln numlevel="1" lineno="154" slineno="3-12"/>requirements and comply with relevant federal regulations.</subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-6" dnum="4-o" numlevel="1" lineno="155" slineno="3-13" level="1"><display>(4)</display>The state board shall distribute funds for charter school students directly to the charter <ln anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1057" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(b)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1" groupid="1" style="1" owner="ahaskell" level="1" amendtag="end">Beginning July 1, 2028, a charter school is eligible to receive state transportation <ln numlevel="1" lineno="160" slineno="3-18"/>funding under this section on the same basis as a school district, subject to legislative <ln numlevel="1" lineno="161" slineno="3-19"/>appropriation and rules the state board adopts.</amend></subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-9" dnum="b-o:c-i" numlevel="1" lineno="162" slineno="3-20" level="2"><display><amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="1058" style="2" owner="o" level="1" deltag="both">(b)</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1059" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">(c)</amend></display>The state board shall also adopt rules relating to the transportation of students to <ln numlevel="1" lineno="163" slineno="3-21"/>and from charter schools, taking into account Sections <xref depth="3" refnumber="53F-2-403" start="0">53F-2-403</xref> and <xref depth="3" refnumber="53G-6-405" start="0">53G-6-405</xref>.</subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-10" dnum="c-o:d-i" numlevel="1" lineno="164" slineno="3-22" level="2"><display><amendoutstart style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="erase" pairid="1059" style="2" owner="o" level="1" deltag="both">(c)</amend><amendoutend style="2"/><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1060" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="both" space="true">(d)</amend></display>A charter school governing board may provide transportation through an <ln numlevel="1" lineno="165" slineno="3-23"/>agreement or contract with the local school board, a private provider, or parents.</subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-11" dnum="6-o" numlevel="1" lineno="166" slineno="3-24" level="1" space="false"><display>(6)</display><subsection ssid="1-null-12" dnum="a-o" level="2" placement="sameline" space="false"><display>(a)</display><subsection ssid="1-null-13" dnum="i-o" level="3" tab="1" placement="sameline"><display>(i)</display>In accordance with Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="53F-2-705" start="0">53F-2-705</xref>, the State Charter School Board may <ln numlevel="1" lineno="167" slineno="3-25"/>allocate grants for start-up costs to charter schools from money appropriated for <ln numlevel="1" lineno="168" slineno="3-26"/>charter school start-up costs.</subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-14" dnum="ii-o" numlevel="1" lineno="169" slineno="3-27" level="3" tab="1"><display>(ii)</display>The charter school governing board of a charter school that receives money from <ln numlevel="1" lineno="170" slineno="3-28"/>a grant under Section <xref depth="3" refnumber="53F-2-705" start="0">53F-2-705</xref> shall use the grant for expenses for planning and <ln numlevel="1" lineno="171" slineno="3-29"/>implementation of the charter school.</subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-15" dnum="b-o" numlevel="1" lineno="172" slineno="3-30" level="2"><display>(b)</display>The state board shall coordinate the distribution of federal money appropriated to <ln numlevel="1" lineno="173" slineno="3-31"/>help fund costs for establishing and maintaining charter schools within the state.</subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-16" dnum="7-o" numlevel="1" lineno="174" slineno="3-32" level="1" space="false"><display>(7)</display><subsection ssid="1-null-17" dnum="a-o" level="2" placement="sameline"><display>(a)</display>A charter school may receive, hold, manage and use any devise, bequest, grant, <ln numlevel="1" lineno="175" slineno="3-33"/>endowment, gift, or donation of any property made to the school for any of the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="176" slineno="3-34"/>purposes of <xref depth="1" refnumber="53G-5" start="0">Title 53G, Chapter 5, Charter Schools</xref>, or related provisions.</subsection><subsection ssid="1-null-18" dnum="b-o" numlevel="1" lineno="177" slineno="3-35" level="2"><display>(b)</display>It is unlawful for any person affiliated with a charter school to demand or request any <ln numlevel="1" lineno="178" slineno="3-36"/>gift, donation, or contribution from a parent, teacher, employee, or other person <ln numlevel="1" lineno="179" slineno="3-37"/>affiliated with the charter school as a condition for employment or enrollment at the <ln numlevel="1" lineno="180" slineno="3-38"/>school or continued attendance at the school.</subsection></subsection><subsection ssid="1-20" dnum="_-o:8-i" numlevel="1" lineno="181" slineno="3-39" ea="amend" anum="0" owner="ahaskell" style="1" level="1"><display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="1068" style="1" owner="i" level="1" amendtag="start">(8)</amend></display><amend anum="0" ea="amend" pairid="11" groupid="9" style="1" owner="ahaskell" level="1" amendtag="end">The state board shall:</amend><subsection ssid="1-21" dnum="_-o:a-i" numlevel="1" lineno="182" slineno="3-40" ea="amend" anum="0"
