Committee Information

The Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee reviews the budgets of the Departments of Health, Human Services, and Workforce Services, who administer a variety of public health and social services programs for the State of Utah, and makes recommendations to the Executive Appropriations Committee and the Legislature. The Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee meets principally during each annual General Session, as well as during the interim.

The Department of Health includes the Divisions of Executive Director's Operations, Family Health and Preparedness, Disease Control and Prevention, and Medicaid and Health Financing, which administers the State's Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance (CHIP) programs.
