Michelle Brown, State Coordinator of Resource Stewardship discussed the state's current air quality and state entity practices for improving air quality.

3. Title 4, Utah Agricultural Code Recodification Follow-up
Commissioner LuAnn Adams discussed changes in the Agricultural Code from the 2017 General Session and suggested future code changes for the 2018 General Session.
4. Draft Legislation - "Environmental Health Scientist Act Amendments"

Sen. Allen M. Christensen introduced his draft legislation.
Eric Peterson, Acting Chair for the Environmental Health Scientist Licensing Board at the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, discussed changes in qualifications required by the bill.
Brian Bennion, Executive Director, Weber-Morgan Health District discussed the importance of continuing education in the licensing of health scientists.
MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to recommend Environmental Health Scientist Act Amendments as committee approved legislation. The motion passed with a vote of 16-0-2.

5. Regulation of Above-Ground Storage Tanks
Above-Ground Storage Tank Presentation
Brent Everett, Director, Division of Environmental Response and Remediation discussed the possibility of establishing regulations for above ground storage tanks.
Therron Blatter, Manager, Underground Storage Tank Branch spoke to the issue.
MOTION: Rep. Arent moved to open a bill file on the regulation of above-ground storage tanks. The motion failed with a vote of 7-7-4.
