MOTION: Sen. Weiler moved to approve the minutes of the February 11, 2019 meeting. The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

Sen. Mayne explained this bill with the assistance of Mr. Dan Petersen, Fire Chief, United Fire Authority.
Mr. Petersen distributed a handout entitled "A Position Paper by the Utah Fire Chiefs and Utah Police Chiefs" about SB 167 Planned Retirement Program.

Chair Harper called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m.
Mr. David Spatafore, Utah Chiefs of Police Association, spoke in favor of the bill.
Mr. Dee Larsen, General Counsel, Utah Retirement Systems, spoke to the bill.
Mr. Marty Peterson, Professional Fire Fighters Association, spoke in favor of the bill.
Mr. Rusty Cannon, Vice President, Utah Taxpayers Association, spoke against the bill.
Sen. Mayne moved to pass S.B. 167 out favorably.
SUBSTITUTE MOTION: Sen. Hemmert moved to move to the next item on the agenda. The substitute motion passed with a vote of 4-2-1.
