Dr. Norman K Thurston, Director, Office of Health Care Statistics, Utah Department of Health, reported on the development of the department's All Payer Claims Database, it uses, potential uses, and limitations. He also reported on implementation of health data transparency requirements imposed on the department by legislation passed during the 2019 General Session of the Legislature. |

Mr. Clark Ruttinger, Director of Workforce Research, Utah Medical Education Counsel, presented information for the committee's sunset review of Utah Code Section 53B-24-402, Rural Residency Training Program, which is scheduled for repeal July 1, 2020. |
Dr. Marc Babitz, Deputy Director, Utah Department of Health, recommended that Utah Code Section 53B-24-402, Rural Residency Training Program, be continued for five years. |
MOTION: Rep. Daw moved that the committee open a bill file to reauthorize the Rural Residency Training Program for five years. The motion passed with a vote of 9-0-8. |
