Sen. Anderegg discussed challenges created by 2018 General Session S.B. 74, "Voter Privacy Amendments," due to a larger number of voters opting to designate their voter registration records as private records under the Government Records Access and Management Act. |
Jeff Merchant, Chair, Utah Democratic Party, stated the importance of balancing voter privacy and a political party's need to disseminate information to its members, particularly prior to primary elections. |
Derek Brown, Chair, Utah Republican Party, commented on a political party's need for access to and the use of voter registration records. |
