S.B. 110 8 General Description: 9 This bill creates a pilot program for the development of a program to issue an electronic 10 license certificate or identification card , and later a permanent process for obtaining an electronic license 11 certificate or identification card . 12 Highlighted Provisions: 13 This bill: 14 ▸ requires the Driver License Division to develop a pilot program for the issuance of 15 an electronic license certificate or identification card ; 16 ▸ requires the Driver License Division to develop a permanent program for the 17 issuance of an electronic license certificate or identification card ; and 18 ▸ makes technical changes. 29 53-3-235. Electronic license certificate or identification card . 30 (1) (a) On or before January 1, 2021, the division shall establish a pilot program for a 31 process and system for an individual to obtain an electronic license certificate identification card . 32 (b) Based on information and results from the pilot program described in Subsection 33 (1)(a), on or before January 1, 2022, the division shall establish a process and system for an 34 individual to obtain an electronic license certificate or identification card . 35 [ 36 37 38 [ 39 electronic license certificate or identification card , the division shall issue a standard procurement process in 40 accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 6a, Utah Procurement Code. 41 [ 42 Act, the division may make rules necessary to facilitate the implementation, coordination, and 43 administration of electronic license certificates and identification cards . |
