2b PRESENTATION: Strengthening Confidence in our Elections
Rep. Christiansen gave a presentation on Utah's election policies and answered committee questions.
Rep. Phil Lyman shared his thoughts on the use of private sources donating to the election process in Utah and answered committee questions.
Rep. Hawkins shared his thoughts on a lack of confidence by the public in Utah's election process and shared a proposal to increase the integrity of elections in Utah.
Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson explained her role in the election process, clarified certain steps in the process, and answered committee questions.

3.Judges on Ballots
4a PRESENTATION: Judicial Retention and the Ballot
Ricky Hatch, Weber County Clerk, gave a presentation on how judicial retention redundancies appear on ballots and recommended a solution. He also answered committee questions.
Michael Drechsel, Assistant State Court Administrator, Administrative Office of the Courts, gave background information on this issue and the court's role in the solution.
MOTION:Sen. Escamilla moved to open a committee bill file to address recommended changes to how judicial retention options appear on ballots. The motion passed with a vote of 13-0-4.

4.Sex Offender Registry
Amanda Montague, Sex and Kidnap Offender Registry, Attorney General's Office, shared an update on how previous legislation has affected the Sex Offender Registry.
Jennifer Calvo, Director, Sex Offender Registry, Department of Corrections, shared further information on how the Sex Offender Registry has changed over the past couple of years.
