Sen. Weiler commented on the need for staff for DSPD and Sean Faherty responded.
Heidi Bernal, Disability Service Provider, commented on the Division of Services for People with Disabilities waiting list.
Sen. Anderegg, responded to testimonies regarding divorce as a means to move up on the Division of Services for People with Disabilities waiting list.
Cheryl Gibbs commented her experience with the Division of Services for People with Disabilities.
Nate Crippes, Public Affairs Supervising Attorney, Disabilities Law Center, commented on the disabilities services' turnover rate.
Mike Menning shared his experiences of working with individuals with disabilities.
Karen Denkowicz Lundgren shared her experience with the Division of Services for People with Disabilities.
Lisa Stamp shared her experience with the Division of Services for People with Disabilities waiting list.
Anne Malbica shared her experience of working in the disability services field.
Sen. Anderegg commented on the appropriations process.
Rep. Judkins asked about using education funding for helping individuals with disabilities and Sen. Anderegg responded.
Sen. Johnson expressed his concern with the length of the DSPD waiting list.
Rep. Daily-Provost expressed a commitment to convey the sentiment from this committee for the Executive Appropriations Committee.
Rep. Peterson asked for clarification on how the DSPD waiting list functions.
Sen. Kennedy commented on the Utah State Developmental Center and asked about what other funding sources could be available to help individuals with disabilities in the state and Sen. Anderegg responded.
Rep. Ivory asked about why the budget requests have not gone through other channels before now.
Rep. Pierucci expressed her opinion on the commenters' testimonies.
Rep. Thurston commented on individuals who need assistance who are not listed on the DSPD waiting list.
5.8:30 Permanent Funding Sources for the DSPD Waiting List
Sen. Anderegg commented on how Angie Pinna and David Litvack are advocates for the individuals who testified in the meeting.
Angie Pinna, Director, Division of Services for People with Disabilities, and David Litvack, Deputy Director, Department of Workforce Service, discussed permanent funding for sources for the DSPD waiting list.
Sen. Kennedy discussed the distribution of funds available to the developmental center board and Angie Pinna, and David Litvack responded.
Sen. Anderegg responded to Sen. Kennedy's comment.
Rep. Ivory commented on the state owned property being discussed.
Sen. Weiler asked about how funding is allocated to reduce the DSPD waiting list and Angie Pinna and David Litvack responded.
Chair Ward asked what the Governor's process is before the funding requests from DSPD arrive at this committee and Angie Pinna, and David Litvack responded.
Sen. Anderegg commented on the surplus.

Chair Ward asked how many indiviuals recieve services through court orders and Angie Pinna, Director, Division of Services for People with Disabilities, responded.
MOTION:Sen. Weiler moved to approve the following motions from the sheet entitled "Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee - Motions for Consideration": All #CJ except CJ3.The motion passed with a vote of 11-0-6.
