Chair Maloy called the meeting to order at 3:43 p.m.
1.H.B. 100 Emergency Preparedness Amendments (Collard, C.)
Rep. Collard presented the bill assisted by Kris Hamlet, Director, Division of Emergency Management, and distributed a handout.
Emergency Preparedness Amendments
Alejandro Puy, Salt Lake City Council, spoke on behalf of himself in support of the bill.
Trish Hull, Magna City Council, spoke on behalf of herself in support of the bill.
Brian Beck, Vice President of Planning, Envision Utah, spoke in support of the bill.
Jessica Chappell, licensed structural engineer, spoke in support of the bill.
Divya Chandrasekhar, professor for urban planning, University of Utah, spoke in support of the bill on behalf of the Utah Citizens for Public Safety.
Brad Bartholomew spoke in support of the bill.
Brent Maxfield, professional structural engineer, spoke in support of the bill.
MOTION:Rep. Dailey-Provost moved to replace H.B. 100 with 1st Substitute H.B. 100.The motion passed with a vote of 9-0-2.
