1.H.J.R. 11 Joint Resolution Supporting Services for Veterans (Burton, J.)
Rep. Jefferson S. Burton presented the bill with the assistance of Gary Harter, Executive Director, Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs.
MOTION:Sen. McKell moved to pass H.J.R. 11 out favorably.The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

2.2nd Sub. H.B. 213 Disabled Parking Permit Amendments (Stenquist, J.)
Rep. Jeffrey D. Steinquist presented the bill with the assistance of Mike Schlappi, coach for the Wheelin' Jazz and four-time paralympian. Rep. Steinquist had a handout distributed to the committee.

MOTION:Sen. McKell moved to amend 2nd Substitute H.B. 213 with Amendment #2.The motion passed with a vote of 4-0-3.

73                 (13) In IBC, the following is added below Table 1106.1: "Where two or more
74         accessible spaces are required, a minimum of one space shall be designated as a wheelchair
75         parking space { , with physical dimensions of 11 feet wide and adjacent to an access aisle at least
76         five feet wide } . This shall be in addition to the van-accessible space or spaces required by
77         Section 1106.5."

105         use by a qualifying person with a temporary wheelchair user placard or a wheelchair user

108         "wheelchair parking" that is visible from a passing vehicle { ; and
109                   (ii) a clearly marked access aisle that is adjacent to and considered part of the parking
