Dan Andersen, Executive Director, and Dee Larsen, General Counsel, Utah Retirement Systems, presented on proposed changes to retirement policy and associated fiscal impacts and answered questions from the committee.

MOTION:Sen. Davis moved to add studying the defined benefit program's impact on public employee retention to the interim study item list. Sen. Davis withdrew his motion.
MOTION:Sen. Fillmore moved to add studying the effectiveness of the total compensation package for attracting and retaining public employees to the interim study item list. The motion passed with a vote of 10-0-5.
