MOTION: Rick Gaisford moved to approve the minutes of the October 18, 2022, meeting.The motion passed with a vote of 7-0-4.

2.Governor Cox's Social Media Strategy
2a - Presentation, Introduction to Governor's Office of Families
Aimee Winder Newton, Senior Advisor, Director of the Office of Families, Governor's Office, introduced the new Office of Families and discussed goals of the office, including strengthening Utah families through proactive policies and addressing social media and its effect on the mental health of teens in the state.
Commission discussion followed during which Aimee Winder Newton responded to questions.
3.Attorney General's Youth Advisory Committee
3a - Presentation, Attorney General's Youth Advisory Digital Safety
Rebecca Lee, Executive Assistant, Office of the Utah Attorney General, discussed the development of the Youth Advisory Committee.
Joyce Wang, Junior, and Ahn Koa Le, Sophomore, Skyline High School, presented a potential revision to 2020 General Session H.B. 372, "Digital Wellness, Citizenship, and Safe Technology Commission," which would provide a statewide curriculum to improve digital literacy and wellness for students.
Commission discussion followed during which Joyce Wang and Ahn Koa Le responded to questions.
4.Commission Working Groups Update
4a - Digital Wellness Survey Results
4b - NoFiltr Youth Innovation Council Website
Kolene Anderson reported on the NoFiltr Youth Innovation Council website for consideration of the commission that includes safety information presented by a youth counsel for their peers.
Dani Sloan and Rick Gaisford presented the results of the digital wellness survey.
Paula Plant reported on discussions around setting up a vetting process for making decisions regarding types of resources that would be most appropriate on the website and proposed that the working group would focus on putting together a request for information and a list of vetting questions to be presented for discussion and approval by the commission at the first meeting following the general legislative session.
MOTION: Rick Gaisfield moved that the commission support the recommendation as presented.The motion passed with a vote of 7-0-4.
