2.Impact of Inflation on Federal Funds

Jonathan Ball, Legislative Fiscal Analyst, Office of the Legislative Fiscal Analyst, Representative Ken Ivory, and Susan Speirs, Chief Executive Officer, Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants, gave a presentation on how inflation is affecting federal funds coming to the state.
The commission asked questions of Jonathan Ball, Susan Speirs, and Representative Ken Ivory.

3.Phoenix Correspondence Commission Report
Rep. Christofferson gave an update on efforts to work with the Phoenix Correspondence Commission.
4.Draft Legislation: State Resource Management Plan Amendments

Redge Johnson, Executive Director, Utah Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office, and Dillon Hoyt, Project Manager, Resource Management Plan Manager, Utah Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office, presented on updates to the Statewide Resource Management Plan and the draft legislation.
The commission asked questions of Dillon Hoyt and Redge Johnson.
MOTION:Sen. Owens moved to favorably recommend draft legislation, "State Resource Management Plan Amendments" to the full Legislature for consideration during the 2023 General Session. The motion passed with a vote of 5-0-4.
