Nathan Brady, Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, presented the 2024 approved study items list for the committee and had presenters speak to the study items list.
Rep. Ray Ward presented on study item "Impact Fees Review."
Rep. Sandra Hollins and Kory Holdaway presented on study item "Conditional Land Use Ordinances "
MOTION:Sen Wilson motioned to remove Higher Education Development Areas from the study item list.
Robert H. Rees, Associate General Counsel, and Mike Curtis, Managing Associate General Counsel, Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel, introduced the interim study item regarding Title 17 recodification and answered questions from the committee.
MOTION:Sen. Wilson motioned to amend and approve the study item list by removing "Higher Education Development Areas" and adding "Recommendations from the Land Use Task Force" and "Public Officials Bonding." The motion passed with a vote of 9-0-7.

Nathan Brady spoke on JR7-1-602, which authorizes the committee to vote to grant the committee chairs authority to open committee bill files without committee approval.
MOTION:Rep. Cutler motioned to authorize the chairs to open committee bill files that pertain to the approved study items list and to limit the committee bill files opened by the chairs to two committee bills between interim meetings, with an overall limit of 10 committee bills for the 2024 interim.The motion passed with a vote of 8-0-8.
