This bill opens the opportunity for insurance companies and treatment providers to bring civil actions against drug dealers. Assuming that 20 additional cases will be brought under this bill the cost to the courts would be approximately $5,000. There would be potential savings to the various levels of government, and the public in general, by the reduction of resources in the drug dealers hands, but, the nature and scope of those savings cannot be estimated at this time.
